After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    Introduction

The Consumer Electronics Show is one of the worlds largest consumer technology tradeshows and also happens to be the first tradeshow of the new year.  For readers familiar with Ninjalane you will know this has become an annual event for us, and for good reason, we’re close.  Its not like we have to fly clear across the country or deal with border patrol.  No, we just get up extremely early on January 8th to catch the early flight out to Las Vegas.  If TSA is on our side we even get there right as the show doors open.

There is only one drawback to this; it makes for a very long day. sad smile

We were fortunate enough to have been invited to a few after hours parties this trip and while on the surface they were nothing more than a high school party with older people. (complete with smokers using the bathroom to sneak a few drags) They did afford us a chance to rub elbows with some old friends and meet some new ones.
    Day One Highlights
We didn’t schedule many face to face meetings this time around in hopes of seeing some of the other exhibits.  All too often we’re scurrying around trying to make meetings and never make the rounds and/or miss our meeting all together.

Our first official meeting wasn’t until 3pm so we wandered around the show floor and for the first time got to see the mobile electronic stuff in the North Hall.  Ie Car Audio.  People that know me will know that I used to be huge into car audio and in a way I felt right at home.
