After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    Board Layout and Features

As you can imagine Mini-ITX is a pretty small board, especially when compared to the full sized motherboards enthusiasts normally deal with.  Despite the smaller size there are still a fair amount of features available.

Processor support consists of any 1156 processor including the Core i7-800, Core i5, and Core i3.  A 6 phase analog PWM can be found onboard along with 2x memory slots supporting up to 8GB of dual channel DDR3 memory.
There are a couple of fan headers near the CPU socket for the system heatsink and case fan.  Any additional cooling needs must be handled by your PSU directly..
Nearby you will find 4 SATA drive connections next to the front panel pins and 2 additional USB headers.   Standard 24pin power is required with a 4pin 12v connector for the CPU.
The IO Panel features many of the common connections such as PS/2 Keyboard / Mouse ports, digital audio over optical, 4x USB2 ports, 2x USB3, and 1x eSATA. There is only a single RJ-45 network connection, and 6 analog audio plugs.  Onboard video is very robust with 3 connections available, 1x D-Sub, 1x DVI-D, and 1x HDMI.  Onboard graphics can be disabled in the BIOS or used in conjunction with any add-on graphics card you happen to install.
