Performance Tests Cont.
PC Mark Vantage has an excellent HDD test suite with a number of categories. It is as close as a synthetic test can come to a "real world usage". We really like the pre scripted tests as they show a good consistency between runs, and is fairly in-depth in what it covers.
For our reboot test we found a popular Reboot script on the web which simple shuts down services and will reboot the system. The end of the test will use the R.T.C. (real time clock) to compute the time elapsed from start to finish.
Passmark performance test is a full suite of information and testing software. It has been around for several years and has been updated constantly to provide a very good stable platform for testing. We used the latest available build, version 7 for the tests.
