Gainward 5900XT Series Investigation @ PC Unleashed

One you get past the Mac in the header graphic and the blonde holding the Gainward 5900XT you get a fairly in-depth article covering graphical aspects, driver solutions, and BIOS flashing of the 5900XT series GPU.
"I contacted Gainward a month ago, requesting to lend us the video card. The reason that I was so eager to review the card was, I’ve heard an interesting information from our international affiliate sites. That Gainward’s 5900XT can easily flash the card into a full fledged 5950Ultra."
Considering the hardware differences between the two cards and the inability to "hot flash" a video card I would think a mod like this is quite dangerous.
