ASUS ROG Strix X870E-A Gaming Wi-Fi 7 Neo @ TechPowerUp
I did a review of the first generation of X870E boards back in 2024 with the ROG Crosshair X870E Hero and was rather impressed with the entire feature package. As it would turn out CES 2025 ASUS was showing the X870E Strix motherboard indicating that they were finally doing the overclocking crossover that hardware enthusiasts wanted.
For the next year I would ask ASUS if the new Strix boards were available with a random spattering of excuses from "No" to flat out ignoring me. Well, TechPowerUp has a review of the X870E-A Gaming and it looks a little different from what I would expect.

This ASUS X870E Strix Neo Refresh is a motherboard built to handle current and future CPUs with great performance, features and looks to match. The competition is fierce, though, and cheaper B850 options are getting ever more capable too.
It would seem that ASUS is giving hardware enthusiasts the finger and following the formula established by a certain region of the world who still buy custom hardware. Normally I would be ok with this but, ASUS has been breaking with tradition and changing well established norms so they can introduce new products and claim they are better.
Seriously, shit or get off the pot.
