Microcool It Banchetto 101 Case Review @ OCIA

These just have that awesome factor to them and I kind of want one just because. I guess we should read some more about it instead of going off just looks to see if it is a worthy test bench.
"As I'm sure many people will tell you, frequently reviewing or benchmarking lots of different computer hardware can be a real pain in the butt. Sure, trying out new gear is usually fun and it's exciting to get our hands on leading edge technology, particularly before it's publicly available. But the physical act of constantly replacing components in our test machines can get a bit monotonous, especially when you spend so much time disassembling, then installing, only to disassemble it yet again. So over the years there have been a small number of manufacturers that make cases designed specifically for the reviewer or "bencher", such as the one we have for review today, the Banchetto 101 from Microcool."

GeForce GTX 480 Review

There will be widespread availability of both GeForce GTX 480 and GTX 470 the week of April 12, 2010 meaning that not only did nVidia plan a great video card but also has stocks available for people to buy.
Inital availability will be "limited" to 10s of thousands of units (if you can call that limited) but should be enough for everyone that wants to get ahold of the most anticipated GPU ever. -

Published: Friday, March 26, 2010 | By: WillOkay now I think I have seen it all. Plextor is now selling SSD Drives. Is there any company that is not selling some kind of SSD Drive now? I wonder if this one is any better than the others. Let's hope the price is.
"Plextor, best known for manufacturing optical drives, has finally stepped into the SSD market with the PX-128M1S, a 128GB drive that uses multilevel cell (MLC) NAND flash memory. The PX-128M1S is a 2.5", SATA 3Gb/s drive, which makes it compatible with most notebooks. It can also be installed into a desktop computer with use of a mounting bracket (not included). With a capacity of 128GB, the Plextor PX-128M1S is well-suited as a boot drive. Unlike 64GB drives which can be a little tight in that regard, you'll have enough space to install Windows, everyday applications like Microsoft Office."

MSI RTFM-chip Details Reveiled!
Published: Thursday, March 25, 2010 | By: WillWell here is something that just landed in my inbox today. Not totally sure if this it true or not, but the source seems genuine to me.
The MSI-forum and MSI-support team are fed-up with explaining you what can be found in the manual. I mean, come on, how hard is it to read a manual?
They are printed on paper so you see them.
We have been talking to MSI for a couple of years and came up with a solution.
It has been implemented on a few boards for some time and with big success.
It had various names, like CoreCenter (1st gathering tool) upto DrMOS (fully automatic)
Some of you noticed because Windows wanted you to install a driver, but you couldn't find the manufacturer.
On AMD systems this was called the Away-driver.
What you didn't know is this, this driver activates the RTFM-chip. (Re-Turn inFormation to Manufacturer chip)
It means it can detect if you read a manual as well stores the parameters you have set in the BIOS. As soon as you start Windows we are informed about your settings and manual readings.I'm not sure if this is a good way for MSI to be making friends with it's customers. Update: Looks to be a joke, but it has gone pretty ugly, pretty fast. It made for a good read and laugh.

As of this posting PAX East is due to start in 22 hours in Boston Mass @ the Hynes Convention Center. If you are in the area, might be a good idea to stop by.

Intel to launch two overclockable processors in June and July

Intel plans to launch two processors - Core i7-875K and Core i5-655K - that have unlocked multipliers and are targeting the gaming market, according to sources from motherboard makers.
The 32nm dual-core Core i5-655K will be launched in early June, while the 45nm quad-core Core i7-875K will be launched in late July, the sources noted.The Digitimes post goes on to talk about falling prices of 775 processors and a little bit about the 6-core 980X and how more X58 boards are on the horizon.
