Enermax Revolution 85+ 1050W Power Supply Review @ Hardware Canucks
Published: Thursday, July 16, 2009 | By: WillHere is a great PSU on any enthusiasts short list of wants. I love the looks and the 1050+ rating that can peak upto 1250watts if need be. I just cannot think of what you would need to be running to load that much wattage.

GEIL Ultra Series PC3-14400 6GB Memory Kit @ TweakTown

"PC3-14400 isn't a number we typically see. What we tend to find is most companies promote their higher end PC3-16000 kits or the more standard overclocked modules, the PC3-12800 ones. What PC3-14400 kits offer us over something like a PC3-12800 kit is a bit more performance and a small jump in price while not going to the extreme that PC3-16000 kits tend to carry.
Today we'll find out if it's worth spending an extra few dollars moving from PC3-12800 or if you're simply better off just splurging out big on a PC3-16000 kit which carries with it an extra 200MHz."You should check out the pics we have some of Geils other stuff here.

ATI to finalize RV870 in August @ Fudzilla

Still in the forums not to long ago a thread started up about who was going to have the newest DirectX 11 part first. So we have something for everyone in there to see, and come on in and add your comment as well to this thread.
ATI should finalize the development of „RV870" 40nm DirectX 11 chip at some point in August. This is what our usually well informed sources have confirmed. We are talking about the cards and chips should already be taped out a while ago.
The real launch and mass production should happen in very late Q3, probably in late September, and real availability is expected in October.
From this point, it looks like that ATI might have a month or two head start, as Nvidia's „GT300" should show its face in very late Q4 2009. All in all, it will be very interesting Q4 but this also denotes that most of July and at least half of August will be rather graphically boring.I cannot wait for the new cards to test out.

Slackware Linux going 64 bit
Published: Monday, July 13, 2009 | By: DennisThis might be old news to some of you but for the longest time Slackware Linux was x86 only with really no indication that the distro author, Patrick Volkerding, would create a port.
Well the wait is over and Slackware 64 is on its way.
Ready or not, Slackware has now gone 64-bit with an official x86_64 port being maintained in-sync with the regular x86 -current branch. DVDs will be available for purchase from the Slackware store when Slackware 13.0 is released. Many thanks go out to the Slackware team for their help with this branch and a special thank you to Eric Hameleers who did the real heavy lifting re-compiling everything for this architecture, testing, re-testing, and staying in-sync with -current.
There have been many side projects using Slackware to offer 64 bit support but none of them were official or supported by the Slackware creators. I suspect that much of that code base was used in creating this new version but only the developers will know.
So why all of a sudden Linux news?? well I've been Slackware since the beginning, admittedly I'm not a hardcore Linux user but I have had a Linux server running on my network for the past 10+ years and it has always been Slackware, it is the premier Linux distro for those that truly want to know Linux the way it was intended to be.

"From an enthusiast's point of view this case is in many ways a more inexpensive brother of Cooler Master's CM Storm Scout case. The case has rounded edges, meaning you won't cut your hand when operating on the system, adequate cooling and great cable management. There is room for four 140mm fans and a 120mm fan or alternatively up to five 120mm fans. The tool-less drive installation, and the FP I/O is a great addition to a good case. Another big plus is the hole in the CPU area that allows you to change out the CPU and CPU cooler without removing the motherboard from the case. This case sells for about $65.00 online and is a solid case that can get the job done and still have some pleasing features to make it an attractive buy."
