Danger Den Tyee GPU Waterblock @ techPowerUp
Published: Monday, March 5, 2007 | By: DennisTalk about a critical review!
"The downside to that leak testing can be seen here, as there is a slight amount of discoloration noted inside the channel near one of the barbs. This is due to a small amount of the water that entered the block was not completely blown out after the test. I would consider this to be very minor though, as the water that will be running through the loop is going to do the same thing. This will have no effect on the performance of the block."
I mean I like to know my products are "perfect" before I used them but citing copper discoloration is a little extreme. The only way to fix that would be to coat the copper in something which will likely never happen in the water cooling industry.
Nice block though.

Wiinja v1.1 - Modchip for Wii Reviewed @ Metku.net
Published: Friday, February 23, 2007 | By: DennisWe don't normally post console related items but the name of this modchip is just too good to pass up.

"It has been only days since we reviewed the v1.0 of the Wiinja - Modchip that allows one to play Nintendo Wii and GameCube backups on Nintendo Wii game console. This time we will focus on the v1.1 and its new features and fixes."
I'm still pretty happy with the 360 and less of a workout. -

HT Omega Claro Soundcard @ DSM
Published: Friday, February 23, 2007 | By: DennisSomebody needs to talk to this guy....

"Normally I’ve been pretty happy with the onboard sound of my motherboards, in the last couple years it has come very far and it’s fairly decent, especially if you have a good set of speakers to use with it, but once you know what it is to use a real high end soundcard, you can really never go back to the onboard sound. "
Motherboard makers have gone to great lengths to make onboard sound at least usable by the masses however we've found that even POS sound cards usually have better quality. -
NL: Review Block - Cases
Published: Friday, February 23, 2007 | By: DennisCase designs have somewhat stabilized over the past several years and you basically have 2 camps. The over achievers (mostly cheap pre-mods) and the group that understands quality.
We of course always choose the quality offerings.

Embrace your siesta for a healthy heart
Published: Tuesday, February 13, 2007 | By: DennisThis might be the best news of the year

"In a study released Monday, researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health and in Athens reported that people who took regular 30-minute naps were 37 percent less likely to die of heart disease over a six-year period than those who never napped. The scientists tracked more than 23,000 Greek adults, finding that the benefits of napping were most pronounced for working men."
However the "man" wants to keep the working class down and has this to add.
"Still, the authors cautioned that further research was needed to confirm their findings.
"We don't want the world to start sleeping in the afternoon yet. A single study never conveys a public health message," said Dr. Dimitrios Trichopoulos, a Harvard professor and author of the study, who said he stopped napping when he moved to the United States 20 years ago.
Specialists not involved with the study said there were sound biochemical reasons to believe that a nap might help protect against heart disease." -
