ABIT AG8 Motherboard @ LAN Addict
Published: Wednesday, May 4, 2005 | By: DennisI can't say I really like this review but I will admit that if you choose to check it out you will be required to read it. Click to see what I mean.
"So how well does the ABIT AG8 rate?! Well, I have to say it is probably one of the better ones on the market. Can it get better? YES! But, you say, Turbo, where can this near heavenly motherboard possibly get better?! Well, there are a few things I would like to see changed: " -
Water Cooling with PolarFLO Article @ nV News
Published: Wednesday, May 4, 2005 | By: DennisWe have some PolarFlo stuff in the labs as I write this, pretty good looking stuff too.

"This article is not meant to be a step-by-step guide. It is more of a collection of the many things I've learned from water cooling. Everyone's setup varies so much that a linear guide really wouldn't be of much use anyway. My hope is that the lessons I've learned (based on both honest mistakes, and some deliberate) will shed some light, answer some questions, and give a boost of confidence in general."
This is a pretty good guide though don't think of it as step-by-step. -

Phje4r my lack of n3wz
Published: Monday, May 2, 2005 | By: DennisHey everyone, sorry for the lack of new news but I've been somewhat busy dealing with things not related to Ninjalane.com.
As some of you know I've been building a house for the past few months and I’m getting ready to close on the loan and get my ass moved in. The task has not been an easy one. For instance you always hear people say that building a house is a very stressful and time consuming thing, well they are right but for all the wrong reasons. In my situation the biggest problem area is not in the building of the house but in dealing with the mortgage company and making sure they have everything they need to get the loan taken care of. Sometimes they know exactly what they need from me and other times they don't. It's the times when they don't know that really pisses me off.
Any event, to make a long story short I've been spending the past week dealing with the "don't" in the above situation and one of the "don't(s)" resulted in me spending the entire weekend (13hrs a day) installing sprinklers and sod so the appraiser will be happy and say the house is "done". (if in fact you are looking to build in the future be sure to read what is included in the appraiser’s quote, for me overlooking that the landscaping had to be done cost me my weekend)
Once again, sorry for the lack of news, (not that anyone complained much). Hopefully if I'm not dead tired tonight there will be a new review posted and some supporting news to appease the other sites that flat out demand their shite be posted. -

Published: Wednesday, April 27, 2005 | By: DennisA little overclocking, some copper heatsinks, and a fancy "Limited Edition" in the title and you have gold my friend.
"ASUS offers 3 cards in the 6600GT category: the standard Extreme N6600GT/TD, the Limited Edition, higher performance Extreme N6600GT/TOP and also the Extreme N6600GT/TOP Doom 3 Limited Edition."
Prolly still wouldn't buy one.

MSI P4N Diamond @ t-break
Published: Wednesday, April 27, 2005 | By: DennisIt is kind of strange to see a non-Intel chipset running an Intel processor. Know I know there are others like VIA and SIS but how often do you see them in the performance arena.

"nVidia certainly chose the right path by re-introducing SLI in a PCI-E platform with their nForce4 chipset. We say this because it seems as though other chipset manufacturers are going to be jumping on the “multi video cards” bandwagon soon. However, nVidia was the first with it on the AMD platform and they’re first with it on the Intel platform as well as we look at the P4N Diamond from SLI. If you remember correctly, MSI was also the first one to send us their AMD based SLI board." -
GigaByte GA-K8N Ultra-9 Review @ Techniz
Published: Wednesday, April 27, 2005 | By: DennisThe face of motherboards has changed in recent times and mostly due to the lack of performance deviation on the Athlon64 platform. Because of this many mobo makers are now pushing to expand their available features in hopes of capturing market share.
"In the MB Intelligent Tweakers( M.I.T ) page, the lowest part is the M.I.B.2 feature, Select "Enabled" to activate M.I.B.2 function and select the Vendor/Brand of the memory chips to enable the auto-overclocking. " -
AMD to Adopt DDR500 Officially @ CoolTechZone
Published: Monday, April 25, 2005 | By: DennisNot sure how true this really is but the performance numbers do not lie.
"Up until today, DDR400 has been the official memory standard for majority of the platforms, but Intel made the change to DDR2, and now it's AMD's turn to make a change to their platform. According to an insider source, AMD has plans to adopt DDR500 as its official memory standard in the very near future." -
The Return of Netscape - Firefox and Thunderbird
Published: Monday, April 25, 2005 | By: DennisNot really Netscape technologies but the Mozilla/Firefox rendering engine is what powers NS version 6, 7 and 8.
"When the Internet revolution began, there were two popular browsers - IE and Netscape Navigator. They were a hot topic argued by the Internet community debating which browser is better on various aspects of comparison. Finally, after many years of browser war struggle, Netscape Navigator was toppled when IE 4.0 was launched. The fourth incarnation from Microsoft became a huge success because it loaded faster and the fact that it was pre-loaded on every Window-based PC made it more popular. "
If you go even further back there was no IE and Netscape reigned supreme.
btw a supreme would be the number 2, while I prefer the 8+6.
I have a shiny forum title and maybe some computer stuff to whoever is first to email me with info to decode the above message.
