CES Starts Today
Published: Thursday, January 6, 2005 | By: Dennisit's kind of strange how I can afford to fly overseas to Taiwan and attend Computex but can't ever seem to get things together enough to attend CES in Las Vegas (about 750 miles away from here).
I do have a good excuses though.

Ninjalane Radio 1st Installment
Published: Monday, January 3, 2005 | By: DennisThe 1st installment of Ninjalane Radio has been posted! In this installment we feature an interview between myself and Vivian Lien from DFI where we discuss the new LANParty motherboards using the nForce4 Ultra and nForce4 SLI chipsets.
Ninjalane Radio is an Internet radio stream broadcast via SHOUTcast so you will need to break out that copy of Winamp to listen.
Questions and comments can be directed to the Ninjalane Message Forum. Thanks and happy listening. -
Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI Motherboard Review @ t-break
Published: Monday, January 3, 2005 | By: DennisMCP cooling on the nForce3 and 4 series is a real challenge since it is located across from the PCIe and PCI slots, given that many video cards are rather long you have to make sure the cooler is low profile or arranged in such a way as to avoid any potential contact.
"The chipset has active cooling and is placed right below the primary PCI-E x16 slot and although we didn’t run into any problems, our 6800GT came very close to touching the HSF unit. Ideally, the chipset should’ve been present below the secondary PCI-E x16 slot. Next to the chipset," -
Taiwan police seize 60,000 suspect AMD CPUs
Published: Monday, January 3, 2005 | By: Dennis"Based on tips provided by Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) Taiwan, the police Friday raided an electronics company located in Tainan, southern Taiwan, and seized a total of 60,000 suspect AMD CPUs, according to the police and sources at AMD Taiwan."
The processors were defective samples that were to be destroyed, though instead of going to the scrap bin they ended up in Tainan to be remarked and shipped overseas. -
ntel starts sampling 600-series chip
Published: Monday, January 3, 2005 | By: Dennis"Intel will use a codename, the P4P, to distinguish its 600-series chips that feature support of Intel’s Speedstep technology, Enhanced Memory 64-bit Technology (EM64T) and Execution Disable Bit (EDB) capability, the sources noted."
-- snip --
"Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Intel’s rival, seems, however, to be still one-step ahead of chipmakers in the development of dual-core CPUs, with market reports saying that AMD has already sent samples of its dual-core Opteron chips to a number of select clients." -

Raidmax Samurai 908 Review Posted
Published: Thursday, December 30, 2004 | By: DennisI really have to hand it to Raidmax for creating a very unique gaming case; they did an excellent job in the bodywork and the paintjob is great. However the case doesn't really lend itself well to many modding possibilities except for enhancing what has already there.
