ZDnet is reporting that MSN is blocking non-IE browsers saying
"Additionally, you'll see the most advanced functionality of MSN.com only with the latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer or MSN Explorer" etc...
I've checked this with both Netscape 6.1 and Netscape 4.7 and found the site to load just fine so it would seem that the block is limited to the smaller and open source browsers.
The Tech Report took some time and reviewed a nifty integrated system from Shuttle. This system is based on the VIA PL133 chipset, the same one used on Freeway's FWD-CUPA. The cool thing about the SV24 is its size.
Heat can damage electronics, and hard drives are not immune. The super fast 75GXP drives from IBM have been plagued with a high failure rate since their introduction and these failures can be attributed to heat and low tolerances, together they spell disaster. It would appear that with this lawsuit the 75GXP drives are being pulled from production.
Well, as expected (by me), it's happening. Shortly after Phil Zimmerman, the creator of PGP, leaves NAI for personal reasons, Pretty Good Privacy goes on the auction block. I guess they didn't realize the immensity of the task that Mr. Zimmerman was managing.
Another VisionTek review has been posted, this time by the Evil Smokers at Evil3d. I wonder if VisionTek will be the big seller this year in the video card market.
Though still plagued with problems, the soon-to-be G5 PowerPC processor will indeed be a 64-bit chip, and current yields are stable at 1.6 Ghz.
ZDnet reports that Via will start building high-end motherboards for their P4 DDR chipset. This news isn't really new to us but is worth a mention.
The way I understand it Via isn't really going to be producing the boards but will instead outsource the task to other companies that have the resources to build them. Soltek is rumored to be one of those companies.
Steve is being silly over at the OXP today which isn't really anything new. You will also notice the OXP reference, it would seem they think that adding an XP to their name will make them better.

In an attempt to remain profitable Playboy is cutting 90 jobs. It would seem that the economic downturn is affecting pr0n as well.
Reviews of the Radeon 8500 will be popping up all over the net this week now that ATI has released their review samples. There will of course be some who will simply go out and buy one.
