XBox Owner Sues Microsoft
Published: Friday, October 29, 2004 | By: DennisThey have no idea how many people this affects, I suppose they could look at the RMA record but that doesn't include the people like me that just went out and bought another Xbox to replace the broken one.
""Reuters is reporting that Sean Burke has filed suit against Microsoft because his XBox system stopped reading discs (games or otherwise) after less than one year of use." -
asetek Water Cooling Stuff @ OcPrices
Published: Friday, October 29, 2004 | By: Dennis"The Socket T waterblock basically comprises of the same Antarctica copper base, but just with a different acrylic lid. Unlike the universal waterblock, this lid only supports Socket T. Although it is essentially the same waterblock we reviewed here, it will be interesting to see its compatibility (clearance…etc) with the new LGA775 motherboards"
I'm thinking that the Antarctica block will have a few clearance issues on certain 775 motherboards but that is to be expected. -
Den Maze4 GPU Waterblock @ OCModShop
Published: Friday, October 29, 2004 | By: Dennis"Since this block has its name because it's made on the design of the Maze4 CPU, I took the liberty to check that out for myself and opened the GPU block, and guess what just like the name the inside is exactly the same design, so CPU cooling power for you VGA card."
The internal design of the block isn't really a "maze" but rather a series of semi circle channels that span the entire length of the block. -
CoolForce 2 VGA Cooler @ HardwareHounds
Published: Wednesday, October 27, 2004 | By: DennisLooking for a copper orb to put on your video card??
"As you can see, this definitely moves more air than a stock GPU cooler and it does it quite quietly."
Not to many photos in this review but you do get an annoyingly swank crosshair cursor thingie.

SilverStone Timjin 5 Review @ OCIA
Published: Wednesday, October 27, 2004 | By: DennisSilverstone makes some pretty sweet cases and are just ripe for modding and general case usage. I especially like the dual 120mm fan mounting areas.
"The sides come off the traditional old way, with the inclusion of this slide lock for the left one. I dunno, with such a finely crafted case, seems like maybe the engineers could have come up with a better method of fastening the side to the case."
Quick access is nice but it need to be elegant too, IMO.

asetek HDD Coolers @ Bjorn3D
Published: Tuesday, October 26, 2004 | By: Dennis"today I am reviewing the Asetek HD Cooler. Yes, you read right. Asetek has released a cooling block for hard drives, allowing you to lower the temperature of your hot running drives."
The cooler the better I always say, your drives last longer that way.
Then again maybe that is why I have so many 40gig drives laying around. -
NL: Review Block - i915x Stuffs
Published: Tuesday, October 26, 2004 | By: DennisWe recently tested the LanPartyUT 915P from DFI and walked away with some really impressive overclocking scores. Were these editors able to so the same?
- Tyan Tomcat i915 S5120 @ Phoronix (This is a Tyan board so don't expect to much in the way of overclocking, however the system should be hella stable)
- Albatron's PX915P-AGPe @ The Tech Report (Leave it to the kings of "lets put the floppy connector in the worse place possible" to start including an AGPe slot on their 915P boards
)

NL: Review Block - Video Ed.
Published: Tuesday, October 26, 2004 | By: DennisHigh-end video cards are still only available in AGP form but as time progresses this will slowly change over. AGP won't be going away any time soon but the availability of certain models may diminish.
With that being said here are a few not quite high-end AGP and PCIe reviews.
- Club3D GeForce6800 128Mb @ XtremeNews (Maybe a little too "low-end" for most of us, oh and not in English either)
- NVidia GeForce 6800 @ OC-Serwis (straight up review of the chip here)
- GALAXY GeForce 6600 @ Hexus (We spoke with Galaxy at Computex this past year and while they were really nice they made it very clear that they focus on the European market and could care less about the US.)

Published: Monday, October 25, 2004 | By: Dennis"With its recent introduction of the PCIe-enabled Nvidia nForce4 media and communication processors (MCP) for Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) processors, Nvidia expects to extend its lead against other chipmakers for the world’s K8 chipset market, said Drew Henry, general manager of platform business at Nvidia, in Taipei recently.
The company is now shipping Nvidia nForce MCPs for all lines of the AMD processor family, and Nvidia currently holds about 45% of the K8 chipset market, Henry said."
