DDR-II Speculation Article @ Tech-PC
Published: Monday, February 9, 2004 | By: Dennis"The DDR-II is coming! Not really as menacing as 'The English are coming!' but sure to strike confusion into the minds and panic into the wallets of computing enthusiasts everywhere."
This is a good read and I suggest that everyone at least give it a once over. -
New asetek WaterChill Waterblock
Published: Saturday, February 7, 2004 | By: Dennisasetek has just released an upgraded high performance waterblock for the WaterChill system called the Antarctica. According to the pictures the block looks to be a micro channel waterblock with 3 barbs. (That sounds a little familiar, hummm)
Photos of the new block can been seen on the asetek website, check them out! (IE required) -
Intel vs. AMD the Next Battle
Published: Friday, February 6, 2004 | By: DennisNot exactly the title but x-bit labs has begun to talk about the future of the Intel Pentium 4 and the Athlon64 processors.
"The next big competition between arch-rivals Intel and AMD is likely to happen this April, when Intel Pentium 4 3.60GHz and AMD Athlon 64 2.40GHz microprocessors are released. In addition to new chips, both firms will offer new platforms with new sockets for CPUs as well as PCI Express bus for next-generation add-in cards."
And don't forget about 4Ghz being reached before the end of the year, or last year if you’re into the VapoChill sort of thing.

DangerDen Maze4 Athlon64 Review @ ipKonfig
Published: Friday, February 6, 2004 | By: Dennis"If you'll notice, DangerDen has been keeping its Maze4 series water blocks in the cooling marathon for quite some time and rightfully so. The Maze4 water block line has greatly shown its performance time and time again, and it's no wonder they're selling like hot cakes (cool-cakes if you prefer) on the market."
The DangerDen Maxe 4, Simple and effective cooling.

Corsair TwinX PC4400 DDR550 Memory Review @ Tweaknews
Published: Wednesday, February 4, 2004 | By: DennisDDR550 is pretty dang fast for today’s computers but there are a few overclockers out there that enjoy testing the limits of their silicon.
"Contrary to the what the two mainstream chip manufacturers would want, overclocking is a strong and growing portion of what is driving computer sales today. To counter against the overclocking onslaught, chip manufacturers have in both cases locked the chip multiplier and locked the enthusiast out of pushing the CPU core high than stock. For example, Intel(r) has successfully locked the end user out of the ability to manipulate the multiplier for a couple of years now."
Don't forget that another side benefit of having super fast memory is the ability to run the modules with tighter timings in the lower FSB/memory speed ranges. -
Soyo SY-CK8 Dragon Plus Review @ 3DXtreme
Published: Monday, February 2, 2004 | By: Dennis"As you can see, we managed some pretty decent numbers on overclocking, and might have possibly gone higher if we increase Vcore some more. We will soon be looking at a water cooling unit and will definitely revisit overclocking this chip again at that time. We also expect some faster RAM soon which will help us achieve better FSB at 1:1 as the CPU is certainly able to handle DDR450 speeds."
The Athlon64 isn't really a strong overclocker like the Pentium 4 and AthlonXP are but it doesn’t need to be due to the great out of box performance. Though as the chip matures overclocking should improve to the "watch out!" category.
