I will not take kindly if anybody does this on my node, though according to the article it doesn't take long before the head office finds you.

• NV30 Rumors from Nvidia?

Published: Friday, May 10, 2002 | By: Dennis

Memory running at 900MHz (maybe DDR II) and claiming 200 million polys per second, now that is fast. I'm thinking we will need some larger monitors. Towards the end of the post they speak of ATI's R300 and had this to say.
"it's going to destroy everything else that's coming out."
Granted no numbers yet though here is to hoping.

• SkyHawk ATX-4396 Aluminum Case Review @ Tweakers Australia

Published: Thursday, May 9, 2002 | By: Dennis

Here is another one of those "hybrid" aluminum cases but the construction and cooling design isn't that bad. They even include a "blower" similar to what is found in the Antec Gemstone Cases.

• Star Wars: Episode II ? Attack of the Clones Building Hype

Published: Thursday, May 9, 2002 | By: Dennis

Personally I'm prolly not going to wait in line to see this movie on opening day like I did for Episode 1 but you never know, it is still a few days off. The reason I even mention it was for the quote factor. "John Challenger, chief executive of the firm Challenger, Gray and Christmas, says that could mean more than $319 million in lost wages for businesses. He says technology firms will take a larger hit than other companies because of the high number of geeks on their payrolls." tongue smile

• Xbox ModChip

Published: Thursday, May 9, 2002 | By: Dennis

There have been reports that this is a fake but according to Tweakers Australia and the similar looking ipKonfig.com a new set of pics and videos have been released showing what the modchip can do.

I don't think modding the xbox will be in my future anytime soon.

• Gigabit Ethernet for the Desktop

Published: Thursday, May 9, 2002 | By: Dennis

Gigabit Ethernet has been gaining in popularity in recent months. Though with a limited amount of hubs and switches that support Gigabit it hasn't been a viable solution for the desktop. It would appear that might change.

• Gully's Aqua Tank

Published: Thursday, May 9, 2002 | By: Dennis

This is actually a pretty cool mod though depending on the fish and how hot your computer got you might be in for some trouble.
"Since I forgot to take more pictures of the construction process, here is a pair of hotties in thongs to even things out."shock smile
I'll have to use that excuse in the future.

Published: Tuesday, May 7, 2002 | By: Dennis

Intel is re-enforcing their DDR presence with two new DDR333 chipsets due to be launched in September, though it seems like a long time to wait considering that SiS and VIA already have DDR333 solutions out or in the works.
This Digi article also speaks of the new Springdale chipset due to be launched sometime 2Q of 2003 sporting a 600MHz FSB and twin-bank DDR333. shock smile
