  • SiS645DX Chipset Review @ x-bit labs

Published: Monday, April 22, 2002 | By: Dennis

x-bit labs gives us an in-depth look at the SiS645DX that has unofficial DDR400 memory support and a sporty new 533MHz Front Side Bus. The unfortunate thing is that this chipset will soon be shadowed by the next-generation SiS648 and SiS648DX in May which ironically is around the same time the 533MHz Pentium 4 Processors will be released, Can you say "waste of time?" I knew you could. tongue smile

It makes you wonder, Since AMD announced that they have lost money and the outlook for the new faster P4 FSB looking weak, is the economy is still that bad? Or has everyone already gotten the computer that they want??

Published: Thursday, April 18, 2002 | By: Dennis

Dual Xeon goodness, and the fun doesn't stop there, this board is actually a Quad processor once you consider HyperThreading. Some of the other features include support for up to 12gigs of DDR200 memory, and PCI-X slots (2x 133MHz, 2x 66MHz). Pretty much everything needed for any high-end server.

Samples of both type SRAMs are available at $80 each. Production quantities and pricing are scheduled for Q3 '02."
