After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    Case Layout and Features Cont.

A unique feature to the RV02 is an independent fan controller for each of the 180mm fans located at the bottom of the case.  The switch position is either high or low so you can choose how much or little cooling you require.  The "off" setting is a little more difficult and requires you to unplug the fan.  Much to our disappointment the blow hole fan has no controller and plugs directly into the motherboard.
Inside the case you will find a large opening below where the CPU socket is normally placed.  Depending on your motherboard this opening can be used to help replace heatsinks or simply aid in getting cool air to circulate behind the motherboard.
For those of you that like to route cables behind the motherboard tray you will find plenty of room to do so however given the location of the power supply most cables can be tucked away at the bottom of the case and away from prying eyes.

The removable HDD cage can be positioned anywhere within the drive bays but fits best in the current position.  The upper most bays feature a push button lock system which is convenient for swapping out optical drives and not so much for drive cages.
This removable drive cage holds up to 3 standard 3.5" HDDs and feature a really cool rubber mounting system.  Each one of these grommets is flexible enough to accordion out and will easily move in all directions thus completely isolating any drive vibration.

Preventing bearing whine and the patented chugging of the drive arm is not supported.
