After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    Case Features and Layout

The case comes with 2x 120mm cooling fans; the exhaust fan is located near the ATX connector and features an orange center and no lighting effects while the second fan is located on the HDD cage.  Since this fan can be visible thru the front panel mesh it features a clear blue LED lighting effect.

LED fans are quite popular in factory pre-mods since they are a quick hop-up item that is easy to install.  Of course if you don’t like the blue LED option simply swap it out for any color of your choosing.
One of the Intel specifications for case design is to add a cool air duct right over the CPU cooler.  The idea here is that cool outside air will be pulled directly over the CPU fan to help cool the processor.  This is a handy feature for low noise situations but is not required for any case with adequate cooling.
Panel vents are one of the most popular cooling methods in cases today; however they are rarely exploited in favor to alternative cooling methods like fans or mesh bay covers.  The M9 comes with both.  The panel vents do nothing more than equalize pressure but do afford you alternative fan mounting locations.
