  • Gigabyte X58A-UD7 Motherboard Review @ Legit Reviews

Published: Wednesday, February 17, 2010 | By: Will

This new Gigabyte board maybe high priced to some, but all of the cool new technology you get is well worth it right. To think about it the last generation X58 board without all of the new technologies are still going in this price range.

"Priced at $349.99 at Newegg the board is a bit on the expensive side but it does come packed with features which does help warrant its price. Gigabyte's entire line of X58-based motherboards are ready to support the new generation of Intel 32nm 6-core processors, so you can rest assured that this board will support the upcoming Intel Core i7 980X Extreme Edition processor. The board also comes with a 3 year warranty without any stipulations for registering the board so if you do purchase it 2nd hand you are covered. When browsing around for boards you have to give credit to Gigabyte for sticking to a uniform color scheme across all their boards. The X58A-UD7 looks quite pretty with it's baby blue and white accents and the dark heatsink snaking across the PCB. Factor in the excellent performance and the easy overclocking and the X58A-UD7 is the real deal..."

Well at least I hope it is worth it.shock smile

  • Interview with ATI's Terry Makedon - Catalyst 10.2, 10.3 and more @ Elite Bastards

Published: Wednesday, February 17, 2010 | By: Will

This is for all of the ATI fans out there. Also for the guys that just want ot know what is going on with the new ATI drivers.

"Elite Bastards: Moving on to Eyefinity now, and we've seen a number of new features targeting Eyefinity users emerge within Catalyst 10.2 and 10.3, but is there still room for more improvement from a driver standpoint? In particular, I'm thinking about criticism of new games being released which don't work well in an Eyefinity configuration - Is this something that can be resolved at a driver level, or is it more of a developer relations issue?

Terry Makedon: A bit of both. Our main goal is to have a robust Eyefinity SDK available to game devs so that they can make it work seamlessly. This is an ongoing effort and at GDC next month we will be releasing a newer version to them. At the same time I do feel it is up to us to make sure the experience is seamless, so we will do whatever we have to in the driver to make it "just work" (but of course never altering the game in such a way that would violate the ISV's vision of the game)"

Marketing blitz. You gotta love it.tongue smile

  • OCZ Hydro Pulse 800 L/h Pump @ Bjorn3D

Published: Tuesday, February 16, 2010 | By: Will

Liquid cooling has been the Ninjalane cooling choice for a while now. Since that is the case we always recommend watercooled systems. One of the big complaints we tend to hear is how much it costs for a good pump. Looks like that concern might be over.

"Liquid cooling never really comes out to be cheap, and if it does you are probably picking bad components. Today we have what can be considered a mid-range pump. This is plenty if you are running just the CPU in your loop, or maybe a single graphics card. This pump is also competitively priced, which puts it in the same price range as some 500 L/h pumps. This is certainly great news for someone looking for good deal on a pump. Lets take a look at how it performs!"

I pretty sure i have seen this pump some place else.big grin smile

  • EVGA H55 Motherboard Review @ OCIA

Published: Tuesday, February 16, 2010 | By: Will

EVGA doing an integrated graphics motherboard? Yep it is true that EVGA has a very full sized H55 motherboard out. Let's read the review to see if it overclocks like it's P55 brother on the market.

"Today we will be taking a look at the latter, a full size ATX board based on the H55 chipset from EVGA, aptly dubbed the EVGA H55, part number: 123-CD-E635-KR. Aside from being a full size board, EVGA's offering brings some innovative features to the table, such as dual heatsink mounting support which allows you to mount either a Socket 775 or Socket 1156 heatsink and EZ voltage read points which allow you to quickly and easily check the voltages of your system with a voltmeter directly from the motherboard. Continue ahead as we take an in-depth look at the EVGA H55 Motherboard. "

  • The Forum Is Back!!

Published: Friday, February 12, 2010 | By: Dennis

Ninjalane once again has a dedicated forum!.

Well, that is not entirely correct,  Ninjalane has always had a forum but when the site moved to dedicated hosting the forum was upgraded to PHPBB and spun off to its own domain.  This was due mostly to a coding mismatch between the ASP.Net and PHP that would not allow me to share session information between the two.

I also thought it would be cool to have the forum on a separate site.  After several years I have seen the errors of my ways and took steps to bring the main site and the forum closer together.

There will be several small changes rolling out over the next few weeks, however the biggest of these was done tonight.  Gone is the old forum domain and then replaced with http://forums.ninjalane.com

Some of the updates still to come include:

    - Fancy graphics to urge you trolls to visit the forums and start posting
    - Fancy graphics linking the main site to our social sites
    - Linking the article postings to threads started in the forum (automagic)
    - Advertisements (future update)
    - Forum member stats on Ninjalane.com (this would include PM notifications, and quick links to the member control panel in the forum)

There will likely be more updates to come but these are highest on the list.

Enjoy!!  As always if you have any questions or comments please visit the Ninjalane Message Forum and let "us" know what you think.

No stranger to us, we've seen many of their designs across our testing bench. EKWB is finally releasing the Supreme HF (high flow) CPU block, the successor of the popular EK Supreme, so let's take a closer look at see how this water block performs."
