  • March 2010 Pegged For Major Intel, AMD Product Releases

Published: Thursday, December 17, 2009 | By: Dennis

Here we have some cool Intel/AMD processor roadmap stuff for the coming year.  Looks like i3 will be big in 2010 along with some Westmere Xeon action.  As youi may already know Westmere is a phatty 6 core hyperthreaded processor that can be used in multi socket server and workstation platforms.

If you think about it Core I7 comes with 4 physical hyperthreaded cores and most desktop apps can't even touch the full potential the processor has to offer.  Kind of makes 12 to 24 "threads" just seem insane.  One nice thing is that on the server platform running virtual machines you can dedicate processors to each VM so that "could" be seen as a nice feature. big grin smile

Click the link below to check out the various roadmaps, they are even stamped NDA so you should feel privileged.

  • Iron Man 2 - Could be the best 2nd movie ever?

Published: Wednesday, December 16, 2009 | By: Dennis

Everyone hates sequels, and for good reason they never live up to the hype of the first.  (read sux arse) There are a few notables like Road Warrior and Dark Knight but this one might blow them all away.

Of course I have to admit I have only seen the trailer and have to say, I am impressed, the CGI is good, the storyline should be great and finally we get to see Tony Stark will be living up to his playboy image.

Be sure to check out the trailer over at apple (and other places on the net) looks like the movie will be hitting theaters come May 7th.

Here is a few more game to check out just before the Holiday shopping is done.

King Arthur: The Role Playing Wargame (PC) Review @ Gamingheaven

Hungarian developer NeoCore Games have designed a strategy wargame along similar lines to the Total War series. The game delves into the legend of King Arthur and manages to create a strong fantasy role playing atmosphere. It is up to you to guide Arthur to the throne of Britain by killing enemy monarchs and their armies.

Borderlands: Zombie Island of Dr. Ned (PC) Review @ Gamingheaven

Borderlands was a brilliant game and one that I have been playing since it was released. The Zombie Island Of Dr. Ned is the first downloadable content for the game which only costs $10. For this you get a whole new zone as well as new enemies, new missions and chances to get more equipment and loot. The Island is very dramatic in design with a sub horror ‘halloween feel' to it, populated with a plethora of undead zombie forces.

Logitech G110 Gaming Keyboard @ Rbmods

Gaming peripherals can change gameplay and increase your score. Logitech's G110 lets you record macros and tweak keyboard settings to squeeze the most out of your gaming experience. Read on.

Logitech G19 Keyboard @ LanOC Reviews

Everyone's idea of a high-end gaming keyboard is different. Logitech has taken the LCD route for some time with their G15. The ability to have extra information showing while in a game can be helpful. Of course to follow up the G15 they had to really up their game, and because of that we have the G19. The smaller LCD screen of the G15 was given an upgrade to a larger full color screen and the ability to change the lighting to any color. Today I'll be taking a closer look at the G19: is it really the gaming monster Logitech makes it out to be?
  • Corsair Obsidian Series 800D Case Review @ Hardware Secrets

Published: Monday, December 14, 2009 | By: Will

Still one of the most popular cases to date the Obsidian 800D is a top notch case. Give this review a good look over to see if it is the case for your next build. The watercooling crowd would think so.

"Corsair has recently released their first case, a USD 300 beast that is targeted to be the most complete case in the market. Let's check it out."

LAN Party goers might look some place else for this is a heavy beast.

Here is a few more games to check out for this Holiday Season.

Napoleon: Total War Preview (PC) @ Gamingheaven

The Creative Assembly have been producing historically accurate Real Time based War games for many years now and they have gathered a huge following. We were shown some of the upcoming Napoleon: Total War game in a recent press event and it is shaping up to be possibly the best game in the franchise to date.

    League Of Legends @ Bjorn3D

Is that what most of us computer users think about, games? Well to tell you the truth, YES, that is all I think about playing on my computer. Of course I can browse the web, make my own movies, do some form of typing, or do some overclocking. The main purpose of this machine is to play games. The need to mutilate, mame, destroy, and crush, my opponents on some unknown digital battlefield is the sole purpose of my computer. Which brings me to the real reason for this review, to give you readers an idea about a new game called League Of Legends.

This game is based off of the ever popular World Of Warcraft III modification, Defense of the Ancients (DotA). I never really cared for the 'Strategy' based games, so when I first heard about League Of Legends, I thought, ' Great, just another one of them strategy games '. Then I found out this was an online type of game, again thinking to myself, 'Just great, to make matters even worse, they go ahead and make it online based....'

Needless to say, I could not be farther from the truth concerning League Of Legends. This game is not your typical ' lets make units and then send them off to go fight while I try and make even more units, so I can possibly win this round '. This game is more focused on a single unit and upgrading that single units abilities, just like DotA.
