Published: Sunday, October 11, 2009 | By: Will

It's a good review in a different language with lots of pictures, and maybe some numbers. Still a good look through if your thinking of going water on your extremely hot 295 GPU's.

"Hardwareoverclock.com has posted another watercooler review. Last week they has take a look at 4 kind of GTX295 watercooler. The testing samples are Aquacomputer Aquagrafx GTX 295, EK Water Blocks EK-FC295 GTX, Innovatek Cool-Matic GTX 295 and the Swiftech Epsilon GTX295. The most important themes in the review are the installation, the accessories and cooling performance."

  • Rise of the Online Gaming PC @ LanOC Reviews

You know I hear a whole bunch of people talking about new Multi-player types. Still I have not found one that was as well balanced, or just pure all out fun with team cordination then the original Tribes.

Multi-player game play has been a feature of video games that has seen as much of an evolution as the industry itself. It's existed since the early days of the Atari, but recently with the new wave of hardware and software advancements, we've seen both consumers and developers alike scrambling to put together the best multi-player experience possible. Partnered with new Internet connection speeds that are more readily available to the mass public than ever before, the possibilities are indeed endless.

  • NVIDIA DirectX 11 Questionnaire A Response to AMDs Views

Published: Thursday, October 8, 2009 | By: Will

Here is some good fun for you NVidia and AMD guys to read over. I think they like poking the honests nest with a stick at Tweaktown.

Recently I posted a news piece which covered the answers to some questions that NVIDIAs PR company thought we should be asking ourselves in regards to the HD 5800 series. It actually managed to cause a bit of an uproar, but really it was all in good fun. We had some questions that NVIDIAs PR company thought should be asked and we thought that it was best to give AMD the chance to respond to them directly. Our aim was never to upset anyone, be it the green team or red, rather to simply educate our readers a bit more.

NVIDIA in the USA actually come out and denied that we ever received the questions. Cliff over at Icrontic asked Senior PR Manager Brian Burke: "Did NVIDIA or its Asian PR firm ask TweakTown to consider their points for TweakTown's Radeon 5870 review?" His response was "We checked with our Asia PR team and they assured us that they did not send out these questions."

  • GeForce GTX 285 is EoL @ TweakPC

Published: Thursday, October 8, 2009 | By: Will

We here at Ninjalane are not much on drumming the rumor drum, but it looks like some truths are starting to surface. Still we highly doubt NVidia is killing off the highend cards.

"Recently, NVIDIA denied to suspend those cards but it seems weird as the rumor is still going on. We wanted to clarify things and tuned in. As a matter of fact, the GTX 285 is EoL! This card obviously will neither be produced nor selled. We can't tell if NVIDA is going to produce the single chips anymore. But a couple of AIBs seem to agree about stopping the production of the cards."

Here is some good all around fun PC games to read about here.big grin smile

Order Of War (PC) Review @ Gamingheaven

"Order Of War is a real time strategy game developed by Wargaming.net and published by the legendary Square Enix. You take control of the American Forces from Operation Overlord and the invasion of Normandy as well as the German troops from Operation Bagration, Russia's final push during WW2."

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (PC) review @ Elite Bastards

"Let's not beat about the bush here - Dragon Rising is hard. There's no room for heroics, or even moderate risk-taking more often than not - Simply choosing the wrong moment to pop your head out from cover or move out into an open space can mean the difference between completing a mission or having an out of body experience and watching yourself slowly bleed to death on the battlefield. Slow and steady wins the race here, as you pick your way through the grasses, woods and undergrowth of the island, trying to remain in constant awareness of your current situation, surroundings and mission status, and marshalling your troops as effectively as possible to achieve your goals without any casualties."
  • Logitech G19 Keyboard for Gaming Review @ OCC

Published: Wednesday, October 7, 2009 | By: Will

You want the ultimate cool keyboard. Well here it is with a very healthy price tag, as well. Let's take a read and see if the features justify the prietag on this cool toy.

"Obviously the G19 keyboard is very customizable. The keyboard has 12 macro keys, an LCD screen that can be set to display a wealth of information, and a backlight that can display most any color, although some colors display better than others. Additionally, the ability to change between three profiles at the touch of a button is key. If you have several games you switch between, you can make three separate profiles, complete with different backlight colors, to handle all your custom key macros."

I like it all the way till I see the price tag.happy smile

  • SilverStone Raven RV02 Full-Tower @ Techgage

Published: Wednesday, October 7, 2009 | By: Will

Ninjalane had the great honor to review the first Raven, and we cannot wait to give everyone the new Raven 2 review. Like all good things though you gotta wait so read this review in the meantime.

"SilverStone's Raven RV01 chassis might not have been the most well-received, but the company has attempted to make up for all the mistakes of the initial chassis with a follow-up, the RV02. Fortunately, the company has done just that, and except from a rather minor issue, and possibly its price, this is almost a perfect chassis."

I know, I know you want the Ninjalane version.big grin smile

Corsair® launches 950 Watt power supply for gamers and PC enthusiasts

Corsair TX950W raises the bar for high-quality, affordable power supplies, thanks to massive 78A +12V rail, NVIDIA® SLITM and ATITM CrossfireTM support and 80 PLUS® Bronze certification

FREMONT, Calif., Oct. 6, 2009 - Corsair®, a worldwide leader in high performance memory and computer products, today announced the launch of the Corsair TX950W power supply unit (PSU), the latest addition to the award-winning TX-series of high-quality PSUs.

The TX950W has been designed to meet the demanding requirements of PC enthusiasts, creative professionals and gamers. The TX950W is built using industrial-grade components to ensure clean and stable voltages, and has been qualified to operate at 100% load at an ambient temperature of 50°C for unmatched reliability.

The Corsair TX950W boasts a dedicated +12V rail capable of delivering 78A (936W), which equates to 98.5% of the PSU's total power output. This makes it ideal for extreme, multi-GPU gaming systems using the latest multi-core CPUs, such as Intel® CoreTM i5 and CoreTM i7-series, all of which require high amounts of stable power at 12V.

"Corsair's TX650W, TX750W, and TX850W PSUs have dominated the market by offering superior performance and quality at affordable prices," said Jim Carlton, Vice President of Marketing at Corsair. "The TX950W raises the bar even higher, thanks to 80 PLUS Bronze efficiency, low noise, and output that's capable of reliably powering even the most demanding Dream PCs."

Thanks to the 80 PLUS Bronze certification, which guarantees at least 85% energy efficiency at typical load levels, the TX950W produces minimal waste heat and is extremely quiet. The high-quality 140mm cooling fan remains at its minimum speed until approximately 65% of the PSU's total load. Six 6+2-pin PCI-E cables are provided and the TX950W has been thoroughly tested for compatibility with NVIDIA SLI and ATI Crossfire solutions. The TX950W also boasts extra-long cables to support full-tower chassis.

The Corsair TX950W is available immediately from retailers and e-tailers, and is backed by a five-year warranty and comprehensive customer support via telephone, email, forum and the Tech Support Express helpdesk.

  • NL: PC Game Reviews Roundup

Published: Monday, October 5, 2009 | By: Will

Here is a good way to start off teh week with some PC game reviews.

Risen (PC) Game Review @ Technic3D

"A sweeping story captivates players from the start! An epic story in an authentic world hand-crafted with an eye for detail and populated by "real", plausible characters. A Mysterious Volcanic Island The heavy tremors on the island bode ill for its inhabitants. Ancient temples have risen from the ground recently, bizarre creatures are terrorising the area. Fear and terror is spreading among the population. The End of All Hope? See you in the following Review from Technic3D the better Version from Ghotic 3."

Darkest of Days PC Game Review @ Gamepyre

The premise of the game is solid with time traveling affecting the past and future a solid starting point for a game. Unfortunately, this game falls short of a great game in a number of key points. Invisible walls throughout the game limiting freedom of movement are a serious problem in this game. With games like Resident Evil and Left 4 Dead having much more understandable "walls" this game limits the player to an almost "On the rails" type of game instead of the promise of a free moving game. The graphics while outstanding in a few areas, mostly can be done on a DX9 class card and it shows. PhysX on the other hand delivers a realistic environment with smoke, gunfire and effects that make the game come alive.
