Having a discomgoogolation day?
Published: Monday, September 1, 2008 | By: DennisFeeling stressed out? Having trouble getting online?
Seems there is no real cure for these common issues but at least there is a word to describe it.
LONDON (Reuters Life!) - Feeling stressed or anxious at an inability to access the Internet? Don't worry, you're not alone and now there's a word for it: "discomgoogolation".
Nearly half of Britons -- 44 percent -- are discomgoogolation sufferers, according to a survey, with over a quarter -- 27 percent -- admitting to rising stress levels when they are unable to go online.and here I was worried about getting internet access in my car.

Nvidia gets QPI license, allows SLI on X58 without nForce200
Published: Friday, August 29, 2008 | By: DennisI had a feeling this would happen, but at what cost to the nVidia brand? Or does it matter?
Looks like the dumb "war" between Intel and Nvidia over SLI on X58 has come to an amicable cease-fire.
-- snip --
The SLI license will cost motherboard makers some money, but presumably less than the $30 Nvidia was going to charge for putting an nForce 200 chip on the motherboard. Now back to your scheduled programming.

Abit Is Really Getting Out This Time
Published: Thursday, August 28, 2008 | By: WillThis could be just another horrible rumor, but I kinda have this feeling that it is not. Well let's all give a fan fav farewell to Abit if they are leaving. I know one of my first boards to ever overclock was with Abit.
"Rumours of abit's demise from mainboards were circulating widely last May, prompting an emphatic denial from abit. Our sources tell us that abit still intended to continue with mainboards at the time and that this decision was only made in the last couple of weeks."
Bye, Bye!

Dennis edit: seems this has been a floating rumor that never really made the rounds unlike the inital reports early this year. Here are a couple news reports that seem to support it.
Now the big question. who is left in the enthusiast motherboard space, and can they survive?

IDF 2008
Published: Thursday, August 21, 2008 | By: WillEven though NinjaLane is not at IDF. This does not mean we are not stalking the other sites info. Intel looks to have some new cool stuff coming.
"One of the most anticipated SATA Solid State Drives (SSD) to come to market has been the upcoming series by Intel. During a briefing at IDF yesterday we found out some more details on these drives and actually have an non-working engineering sample to take home with us. Read on to see the features on the Intel Solid State Drives and see what they look like inside!"
Is it me or is everyone wanting to do SSD. It is as bad as the PSU arena now.
