  • nemy Territory Quake Wars Limited @ Gamepyre

Published: Monday, November 12, 2007 | By: Dennis

Of the multi player "team based" games out there Quake Wars really is the only one that even remotely sparks my interest.  Now I know Quake Wars isn't much different than say BF and there might be betters ones on the market but the simple fact you can play as the Strogg is really the only reason I even consider this game playable.

Humm maybe that needs to be the next LAN Party game?
As the second multiplayer-only Quake game, Id Software's Enemy Territory Quake Wars is a great choice. This product easily wins itself and Gold Medal award for being one of the best team-based shooters that I have played since the original Battlefield 1942. Quake Wars easily lives up to the standards set by its spiritual successor, Wolfenstein Enemy Territory, and moves beyond those standards set. This game is worth picking up, and any Quake fan won't want to miss these bonus features in the Limited Edition

  • Vantec LapCool 5 Laptop Cooler Review @ Mikhailtech

Published: Tuesday, November 6, 2007 | By: Dennis

Vantec's LapCool 5 is a decent product. It looks nice, is small, doesprovide a degree of cooling, gives you an extra USB port, and doublesback as a stand. However it does have a lot more potential that couldbe realized if the fans were reversed and had a bit more airflow.
Laptop coolers are a great invention but really they don't do much cept clutter your desk. Sad but true.

  • Enable Hidden 'Aurora' Boot Screen in Vista @ OCModShop

Published: Tuesday, November 6, 2007 | By: Dennis

If you're like most of the world the thought of a new MS OS really sparked some curiosity but really didn't warrant too much investigation.  Well knowing what we all know its no wonder that we don't remember the Longhorn boot screen. happy smile
The original Vista Bootscreen is very similar to Windows 2000, and is very bland and boring (you know, with the little catepillar bar scrolling from left-to-right). But did you know that Vista comes with a much better highly visual bootscreen? Did you know how easy it is to enable it? No?

Microsoft may not have enabled this by default because of potential hardware issues, but that doesn't make sense because the minimum video card requirements to even run Vista should handle the new bootscreen without any problem. In either case, here is how to make Vista look that much cooler with the "Aurora" bootscreen...

By the looks of it, the steps are really quite easy.

  • Auzentech X-FI Prelude 7.1 Sound Card @ Overclock3D

Published: Tuesday, November 6, 2007 | By: Dennis

The Auzentech cards really amaze me, it would seem in a world of nickel and dime sound devices and most every motheboard coming with multichannel sound on board there is a company out there pushing the envelope and proving that you still "should" buy an addon sound device.
Overclock3D gets its hands on the World's first soundcard custom-engineered around the X-Fi chipset .

    Hungarian modding compo is done

It would be an understatement to say that modding isn't a stable in the computer industry and while you can only do "so" much with a computer case and still remain usable that shouldn't stop you from modding a church around it. happy smile

  • Scythe Ninja Mini CPU Cooler @ Pro-Clockers

Published: Tuesday, October 2, 2007 | By: Dennis

These coolers are never really all that but we like posting news about them anyway.
Today, I have the privilegeof reviewing the Scythe Ninja Mini, one of the newest CPU coolers from Scythe.Scythe has been around 5 years now. They’re not so long in the tooth ascompanies like Intel or NVIDIA, but they’re proving to have staying powerthrough innovations and quality products. This particular cooler is builtaround performance and silent computing. Will it live up to the standards Scythehas set for itself?
On a side note CoolerMaster has a similar cooler that we actually have here in the Ninjalane Labs.
