Setting up Multiple Monitors @ PCMech
Published: Tuesday, July 5, 2005 | By: DennisHere is something we did way back in the early days. Ahh if only you n00bs could have experienced the pain and anguish of running two separate video cards for dual monitor support.
"However, the advantages don't end with a larger desktop area. If you like to run applications in maximized or full screen modes, you'll be able to fill one screen with each application. So if you want to have your email program maximized on one screen (if you have a lot of email), you can still use the other screen for your web brower, spreadsheet, word processor, or any other progrm. It makes copy/pasting easier because you can have the "Copy" window on one monitor and the "Paste" window on another so you can see exactly what you are doing." -
Thermaltake Water Level and Temperature Indicators @ InsaneTek
Published: Tuesday, July 5, 2005 | By: DennisWatercooling is still very big in the enthusiast market and as with most tech oriented items the more gadgets you have the better off you are.

" Thermaltake's water level indicator was produced so that watercooling users can keep an eye on the amount of water in their loop. Thermaltake's water level indicator comes packaged in plastic, formed to the shape of the indicator. The packaging provides a clear view of the entire unit. " -

SCNJ-1000 "Ninja" Heatpipe CPU Cooler @ HardwareXL
Published: Tuesday, July 5, 2005 | By: DennisWith a name like Ninja who can resist posting a little news about it. The hwXL guys seem to really like it, pay careful attention to the heat tests, the 2.4Ghz P4 they are using sits pretty low on the current processor heat curve, your results will most likely vary.
"As you can see the setup had 2x 80mm fans at 12volt making sure heat is directly sucked out of the case, just like the 120mm from the psu. When installing the "Ninja" cooler in a case with a airduct beware you could have problems since i only had bout 4cm between the top of the cooler and the side panel." -
asetek Antarctica CPU Cooler @ HardwareXL
Published: Tuesday, July 5, 2005 | By: Dennisasetek makes some of the easiest to use watercooling kits on the market but as we know ease of use is not the only thing to consider.
"Putting the Antarcrica together as well as the installation on the board was very easy. After running several test like 3Dmark05, Prime95, DVDshrinking and offcourse some BF gaming the cpu temperture did'nt go any higher than 43 degrees celcius ;-). During my tests i could'nt find anything wrong with it, so the award is in its place."
Take that 43C with a grain of salt, without knowing the ambient temp it is almost impossible to know how hot a processor should and/or shouldn't be.
We'll have to watch this post to see if the misspellings in the hwXL article will help our search engine ranking. -

Chaintech VNF4 Ultra Review @ Overclockers Cafe
Published: Monday, July 4, 2005 | By: DennisThere are two kinds of value motherboards on the market,
1) the bare bones board that pretty much copies the reference spec, these boards are usually designed for OEMs and system builders.
2) the value board targeted for system builders and enthusiasts in search of a good deal, these boards may miss some of the high end features but tend to come with a good deal of expandability.
9 times out of 10 the board in category 2 is the one you are going to want and Chaintech has the perfect solution.
"Chaintech has been putting out motherboards, graphics cards and sound cards for quite a while now and they’ve developed a strong line up of value priced offerings. Today we get the chance to grab a handful of their Value Edition 939 motherboard, the VNF4 Ultra." -
News Postings Slowed - No Cause for Alarm
Published: Friday, June 17, 2005 | By: DennisFor the past couple of months we here at Ninjalane (well me actually) have been trying to get a series of new projects off the ground and between running a website, and the normal day to day activities there wasn't enough time left to get anything done.
So, it was decided that to make things happen Ninjalane.com would need to take a back seat for a couple. This does not mean that Ninjalane.com is shutting down, just that the frequency of news and review updates will be slowed considerably.
We will still have frequent WAN parties (on demand) and will still answer advertising and affiliate requests when they come in but daily news might not be so daily anymore.
Until the next update have a good one.

Overclocking Guides @ PC Stats
Published: Friday, June 17, 2005 | By: DennisI think the title says it all, check them out if you're curious.
- Overclocking the CPU, Motherboard & Memory
- Overclocking the Videocard
We've been working on a Ninjalane guide to overclocking but around here time seems to accelerate when we overclock and the next thing you know its 5am and time to sleep. So, as you can guess there is never enough time to get anything written down
