Adobe to acquire Macromedia
Published: Monday, April 18, 2005 | By: DennisNot sure if I should be happy or curl up and be scared.
"Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq: ADBE) has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Macromedia (Nasdaq: MACR) in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $3.4 billion. Under the terms of the agreement, which has been approved by both boards of directors, Macromedia stockholders will receive, at a fixed exchange ratio, 0.69 shares of Adobe common stock for every share of Macromedia common stock in a tax-free exchange. Based on Adobe’s and Macromedia’s closing prices on Friday April 15, 2005, this represents a price of $41.86 per share of Macromedia common stock."
I have been using both companies’ products for quite some time and even an Allaire product before Macromedia acquired them. I can honestly say I approve of the merger but am also very worried about the quality of products Adobe will now be releasing. (i.e. Photoshop and Illustrator are excellent tools but their HTML editors are and have always been shit, heck even for free I wouldn't use them let alone recommended them to anyone else. Macromedia on the other hand,.... Hit or miss (HTML tools excellent, graphics products,... so so) -

XBox Vs. PS2 @ The Tech Zone
Published: Thursday, April 14, 2005 | By: DennisGive me an xbox any day and it will sit and collect dust, give me a PS2 and it will prolly find a new home
. Simply put I'm not a huge console gamer but own console systems. So why post this kind of news item?? It would seem that Breakdown has found his jesus and it comes in the form of a controller in one hand and X and growing console systems in the living room.
"Many different people have worked with these gaming systems inside and out, attempting to determine which system provides the best performance for your hard-earned gaming dollar. Here we take a look at each gaming system and compare the specs and performance of each. We will attempt to answer that age-old question: which is the better gaming system, Xbox or PS2?"
They seem to forget that the Gamecube is also a very solid console that many of our forum members have taken a fancy to. -
Sunbeam Light Bus review @ CaseModGod
Published: Thursday, April 14, 2005 | By: DennisI think the summary tells the whole review,
"The Sunbeam Light Bus is more than a light controller and more than a fan controller. It gives you the ability to think more creatively about your case lighting... and that's what modding is all about. You will no longer have to look at the same case lighting day in and day out, instead you can control fans and create unique lighting accents or effects as needed to take your mod to the next level."
Your choice if you wanna visit.

Asustek only first-tier mobo maker to see 1Q shipment growth
Published: Monday, April 11, 2005 | By: DennisIt really makes you wonder where all of these computers are going.. I mean think about it.
"Asustek, ECS, Gigabyte and MSI shipped a combined 8.2 million motherboards in March, up 23% sequentially, thanks to demand pickup in China and more working days, according to the companies. However, shipments from the four makers dropped about 13% sequentially to 22.59 million motherboards in the first quarter, due to seasonal effects."
