Cool Case Alert! cool case alert and LanParty has the photos. I don't have a time line but I would expect to see these at pcMods pretty soon.
The only crappy part is that you will need IE to view the photos.

Not much has been reported on this but Wired claims that 130 people or about 25% of the workforce at TechTV will need to be let go due to "current market conditions"
We can only hope that Leo Laporte is one of them, when he is on vacation or traveling about The ScreenSavers is a much better show.

A few days ago MSI released their motherboard based on the SiS645 chipset. I'm kind of liking the layout of this board the modem riser is located at the bottom of the motherboard, and there is an entire PCI slot missing adjacent to the AGP. Quite uncommon to see this but I believe it will start becoming a mainstream feature.

I heard from my sources in the East that right now the P4 line of processors is getting to become a very risky business. With the current shortage of available chips the running price for CPUs is changing radically every 10 minutes. Normally this isn't uncommon in the chip industry but the price instability has wholesalers worried.

Compaq is reporting that some Itanium servers are not passing their rigorous server tests. Compaq claims it to be an Intel issue and is working to find a solution. An Intel rep acknowledges the issue and claims it is not related to the chip.

Sorry for the lack of news postings it would seem that when Comdex comes to town the tech sector takes a week off. There will be plenty to report afterwards I'm sure.
VIAHardware has day 2 posted of their Comdex experience. As always plenty of photos and this time the DDR version of the i845 makes an appearance.

Once again Ninjalane was unable to attend Comdex though from what I've been hearing attendance is down from previous years. I have made a short list of sites that have been posting their findings at Comdex this year.
If you know of others let me know

Now that the SiS645 chipset has gone mainstream we will begin to see what this chipset can and can't do. I haven't seen any overclocking scores on this chipset yet so it is hard to say how well the platform will scale.

Just like in grade school a Federal Subcommittee was given the task of rating how other Federal agencies are doing when it comes to computer and network security. Out of all agencies listed the average is an F. This is partly due to the recent attacks of Code Red and Nimba virri exploiting Windows security holes.
