Leadtek WinFast A400 @ Digit-Life
Published: Friday, July 2, 2004 | By: DennisFor those of you looking to Leadtek for your GeForce 6800 needs you might want to check this article out. The review covers what is actually under that huge heatsink along with some of the technical aspects of the card.
"What can we see? First, 6800 Ultra is fully based on the reference design, as was expected. Second, GeForce 6800 design is close to 6800 Ultra, although there are some significant differences, especialy concerning the PSU as the card contents with one power connector." -
The Basics of Water Cooling pt2 @ Geeks Online
Published: Friday, July 2, 2004 | By: DennisIt would seem that this edition of "The Basics of Water Cooling" is focusing on the CPU blocks that are available from various companies and what they need to run. From what I've seen the info is all correct and up to date though doesn't mention anything about how the blocks are attached.

Coolermaster Cavalier Review @ ExtremeMhz
Published: Friday, July 2, 2004 | By: Dennis"The Cavalier actually comes in eight different versions. It can come in either black and silver versions of a desktop or a tower, and with or without the large analog dial. The model we have here is the Cavalier 1, the tower version with the dial."
The door on this case is also very thick and rivals ones found on Silverstone cases. The only thing that is a little sketchy is the actual case material, it doesn't seem to be made with the same attention to detail. -
Security statistics show surprising finds
Published: Thursday, July 1, 2004 | By: Dennis"For example, Windows security holes generally receive a lot of press because of the software's popularity, but the statistics show that Windows is not the subject of significantly more advisories than other operating systems."
It's true, the article goes over the "major" O/S's and discovers that they are all about the same when it comes to security holes. -
Microsoft confirms Windows XP64 will be OEM only
Published: Thursday, July 1, 2004 | By: Dennis"Windows XP64 will be sold through system builders and distributors and people will be able to buy it pre-installed on a system builder PC "or just purchase the OS with some piece of hardware".
But, he said, that could be anything - even a cable."
"Hello, I would like to buy this 64-bit USB2.0 cable please, oh and while your at it throw in that copy of WindowsXP64 too. com'on, chop chop."

Raidmax SAMURAI Titan Review @ TecCentral
Published: Thursday, July 1, 2004 | By: DennisThis is prolly one of the coolest cases that I've seen in a very long time. The Raidmax Titan is basically a standard case covered in some stylized PVC and automotive paint. Looking at the case you can tell it was styled after an Alienware system but is different enough that people won't think you are stupid for buying one. (Alienware system that is).

New PolarFLO TT Series CPU Coolers
Published: Thursday, July 1, 2004 | By: Dennis"The PolarFLO TT CPU is the latest in pc water cooling technology. We bring you the best performance at much lower flow rates and at high flow rates. The new design is fully comprehensive and future proof. We decided to take a more feature-rich and performance approach with the TT Series"
The new blocks look great though happen to be designed for use on "heatspreader enabled" systems meaning that use on the AthlonXP is out of the question. -
Corsair Memory Announces 667 Megahertz XMS2 Modules
Published: Thursday, July 1, 2004 | By: DennisNot quite ProSeries, yet.

"These come in several density options as well as in matched pairs. Developed speci?cally for Alderwood and Grantsdale DDR2 platforms, these products range from 256MB to 1GB. These products are based on the new DDR2 technology which increases the memory bandwidth available for memory intensive applications. JEDEC standard latencies at 667 MHz are 5-5-5-15, but Corsair’s 5300C4 modules are rated at 4-4-4-12 to deliver exceptional performance."

CoolerMaster AquaGate Review @ OCAU
Published: Thursday, July 1, 2004 | By: Dennis"Given that one of the aims of my current PC upgrade is to try to keep the systems as quiet as possible, I found myself limited in terms of cooling options. So, when CoolerMaster sent us one of their new AquaGate 'Liquid Cooling System' units to look at, I was very interested to see how it performs in terms of its cooling ability and also if it would allow for quiet computing."
I can agree, watercooling appears to be the solution of quiet vs performance, since you can get both (to a certain degree) you just can't go wrong. -
Asetek WaterChill Antarctica DYO @ Virtual-Fusion
Published: Thursday, July 1, 2004 | By: Dennis" One of the great innovations in this block, is the existence of three connectors. But so that it will be necessary to use three connectors? Simple, one of them (of the center) is for entrance, while two more external they are for the “exit of water”. Of this form it is made sure that the water is extracted of waterblock badly enters in this, increasing, in theory, its general performance."
The new Antarctica block from asetek is a really good waterblock though isn't very flexible due to the push on hose connectors. You either love them or hate them; last I checked people were about 40-60.
