No Gainward 6800 retail until after Computex?
Published: Tuesday, May 25, 2004 | By: Dennis"With rumours abound of a new NVIDIA product announcement at Computex and whispers of a faster basic clock speed for all 6800 Ultra boards being the reason for its late entry at retail, it's no surprise to hear from Gainward that they won't ship any boards to retail until after Computex."
Hexus appears to be starting a little rumor mill of their own. Though it would seem that there is some basic truth to the whole story. I mean, you can't actually buy a 6800 yet so something has to be up.

Proper Bondo Use Guide @ Creativemods

I will admit most of my Bondo "trial and error" time was spent on cars and motorcycles so when it came to case modding I had a pretty good idea as to what needed to happen. However for the n00b this article may help a little.

A paint stripping wheel can be bought at any home improvement store or where you got your Bondo. They cost about $7 and will pay for themselves many times over."
He talks about his EX a lot in this article; maybe he has some really deep seated issues that need professional help. -

Intel's dual-core push leads to discontinuation of two chips

"The decision to cancel Tejas and Jayhawk was not related to any engineering or manufacturing difficulties in getting those chips ready for volume production, Kircos said. Reports had indicated that both chips consumed a great deal of power, even more than the Prescott processor released earlier this year.
Intel realized that it could accelerate the development of the dual core products to the point where it made more business sense to head in that direction, he said. "
I like the idea of two processor cores; they will be based on laptop designs for reasons of power consumption and heat output though it makes you wonder how the new configuration will effect overclocking? Typically in the past when two processors where installed the Northbridge kept the processors in check. It would seem to me that once both cores on are the same die that luxury goes away.
On a side note, how do you think performance watercooling will be affected by the shift to dual processor core technology? I have an idea, and possible solution, stay tuned for more info.

Rather they prefer to send samples to places that don't do huge reviews thus avoiding the "digging too deep" issue that has been a problem in the past.

"It's big, hot and heavy, but I think that was a given before we even took a look at it physically. You have to decide if 4.0Kg/8.8lbs is something you can live with. It's certainly simple to lug around with the backpack though and it's not too bad on your lap, should you wish to brave cooked sausage and fried eggs for a quick game of UT2004.
Battery life is laughable in the strictest sense, but personally I'm not sure you'd care too much if you were interested in buying one, it's a DTR after all; portability and battery life are secondary concerns."
