Intel and Rambus together againPublished: Tuesday, September 18, 2001 | By: DennisIt would appear that Intel and Rambus have renegotiated their licensing agreements to a level that benefits both companies.
It would appear that Rambus isn't as dead as we once thought at least for the next 5 years. Good news for shareholders too the stock is back up too.

Cool New VirusPublished: Tuesday, September 18, 2001 | By: DennisI usually don't report things like this but I figured it was worthwhile.
" This worm, named W32/Nimda.A-mm, is dangerously different than virtually all other e-mail and network-borne viruses: It can infect a computer when a user simply clicks on the subject line of an e-mail in an attempt to open it, or visits a Web page housed on an infected server."
This worm is actually pretty dangerous since it combines "features" of other network virri in its attempt to cause discomfort to the casual Internet user. Watch out the W32/Nimda.A-mm worm is on the loose.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein MP TestPublished: Tuesday, September 18, 2001 | By: DennisI have downloaded the MP Test and all I can say is "W0W". The player models and weapons look great and the GUI interface looks to be sampled from the Quake 3 TA release. The map that I played was a bit on the dark side so it was hard to see. Other than that I would highly recommend the download.

Stocks Take a Sharp DownturnPublished: Monday, September 17, 2001 | By: DennisThe US stock market resumed trading today with a sharp fall in early trading. Though this isn't an uncommon occurrence and should only be a brief downturn.
On a happier note Nvidia's stock split 2 for 1 this past week so in effect my holdings have doubled

Dual Athlon from GigabytePublished: Saturday, September 15, 2001 | By: DennisIt would appear that Tyan isn't the only company with a dual solution for AMD processors. Gigabyte has entered the AMD SMP arena with the GA-7DPXDW, complete with dual processors (sold seperatly), 64-bit PCI, and a cool blue PCB color.
As with all AKIBA news posts the site is in Japanese, though don't let that stop you from visiting.

Downtime and more DowntimePublished: Thursday, September 13, 2001 | By: DennisI shouldn't have to say this but due to problems with my hosting provider Ninjalane has been experiencing sporadic episodes of downtime. Luckily the site is only down for about 5-10min at a time but everyday is getting annoying. We are working to solve the problem.
On another note if you know of a high quality hosting company with good rates please drop me a line.
