After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    Conclusion

Now, let's talk about performance. Simply put these fans blow more air quieter than just about any other fan on the market. That is not to say you can't find anything better though you'll be hard pressed to find an 80mm fan that moves 72CFM @ 40dBA. At their slowest speed setting both fans are very quiet. The FM121 120mm fan moves a decent amount of air which is a strong point if you are watercooling or have a large case with 120mm fan support.
Many people would like to move large volumes of air into their case and still keep a quiet office. For systems without larger fan support the FM82 is a great solution. Due to its unique features you can keep a cooler system without all of the extra noise.
With Silverstone you can expect something different, namely a sense of style that is understated and classy. The fans provided for this review have this aesthetic and can even meet the mundane requirements of moving air in and out of a computer system. Also with fifty thousand hours of expected life you don't have to worry much about buying a replacement. This is something you can appreciate while protecting those expensive high-end components. Overall you can't go wrong with these fans.
Now for the ever popular list of Good things and Bad things. happy smile

    Ninjalane Rating
