After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    Board Layout and Features Cont.

Keeping things cool is very important when overclocking and the biggest source of heat doesn’t come from overclocking but rather the combined efforts of everything in your chassis.  In an attempt to keep things under control DFI has included 6 fan headers on the LanPartyDK X38.  The 3 major heat sources have a dedicated header (CPU/NB/SB) while the remaining 3 can be used for anything from case cooling to additional CPU or NB fans.
    Included Goodies
Dark edition motherboards generally do not come with a wide array of additional goodies.  In fact you get just enough to setup a basic system. 1 rounded IDE cable, 1 rounded floppy cable, and 1 SATA drive package.  You also get an ATX backplate, additional jumpers and thermal paste.
Documentation and driver support has always been excellent even if the board comes with the Chinese side up. wink smile

It should be noted that the main installation manual is mutli-lingual in the following languates

    English
    Francais
    Deutsch
    Espanol
