After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    DFI Reprise

I posted a few photos of the DFI booth on Day 1 and I plum forgot to post the rest.
The new Lanparty 915P-T shown here is one of their new designs using the i915 chipset with PCI Express. It is interesting to note that DFI has migrated to using 4 phase power supplies with low profile capacitors from Japan. I guess they are the only ones that don't explode.
The Infinity series is now using black PCBs instead of the sexy red and encompasses a few other versions of popular DFI designs instead of mirroring what is found in the Lanparty series.
These last two motherboards are an i875P and i865PE that come with the new Intel 775 processor socket, I imagine that once the processor is released these motherboards will become very popular with the upgrading crowd on a budget.
DFI was very proud of their new line of 5.1 channel headphones. Now before you go off thinking my math is wrong the headphones are USB and contain a digital auto controller that powers 6 speakers found in the headphones. The demonstration didn't go into the details of the headphone design they work on the principle of distance, sound phase, and timing to give the illusion of 5-channel sound while only covering 2 ears.
The last photos are of the cases on display, I have never liked pre-modded cases for this very reason. I mean I know people are all about the windows but why make them look so ugly.
