NVIDIA To Unify Desktop and Notebook Drivers @ HotHardware
Published: Wednesday, April 28, 2010 | By: WillThis is great news for notebook people. With NVidia unifing their drivers this will make it easier to keep all machines upto date. This will also take away the guess work on which drivers your notebook needs. Here is a huge kudos to NVidia for helping out all notebook users.
"As you're probably all too aware, historically, notebook users have been at the mercy of the notebook OEM with regard to mobile graphics driver updates, and OEMs have typically lagged way behind the GPU manufacturers. This left many notebook users out in the cold, while desktop users were treated to performance enhancements, new features, and increased compatibility with the latest games."
Now if only ATI can get on the same page.

"With the Phenom X6 finally being released and the 890GX motherboards already retailing for several months, AMD is now releasing their new flagship chipset called the 890FX. Not only does this chipset represent a significant evolution for AMD's current lineup but it is also meant to go hand in hand with their Thurban processors. In this article, we take a closer look at this chipset and what it has to offer."
I think I just might have to look at this new 6-core setup soon.

Gainward GTS250 512MB GDDR3 "Deep Green" Video Card @ PCTechshoptalk
Published: Tuesday, April 27, 2010 | By: WillIt has been a very long time since the Gainward name has graced our inbox. One of the top brands for NVidia cards back in the day. With the unique red PCB, and the ability to overclock like no other with their golden sample video card line. To bad this is not the old days and this card looks to not be that type of overclocking card anymore.
"Waiting for the long delayed new Fermi generation to come out, many manufacturers started to develop different card configurations with the chips that were currently on the market like G210, GT240, 9800GT, GTS250. Gainward have released a new type of cards named "Deep Green", which do have lower clocks than the stock specifications from Nvidia and consume less power. These do not have a SLI hardware connector, but do support software SLI."
Lower clocks, WTH!

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 Slated For June
Published: Monday, April 26, 2010 | By: WillIt looks like NVidia is ready to hit the mainstream pretty quickly with the new GTX 460 card. If the specs are correct we all might have a monster on our hands in this area for gaming and benching.
"The GeForce GTX 460 will be derived from the GF100 GPU, by further cutting down the available streaming multiprocessor (SM) counts, and trimming the memory interface a little. With four SMs disabled (probably an entire graphics processing cluster or GPC), the GTX 460 has 384 CUDA cores, 32 raster operation processors (ROPs), 48 texture memory units (TMUs) with a 256-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, to connect to 1 GB of memory. The rest of its feature-set will be common with the GeForce 400 series. It is expected to compete with ATI Radeon HD 5830, at a similar price-point."
I cannot wait.

GIGABYTE demo On/Off Charge for Apple products @ TweakTown
Published: Friday, April 23, 2010 | By: WillHere is something for the gadget guy that loves to charge his iPods, and what not without having your PC on. Gigabyte now allows for the motherboard USB headers to charge gadgets while turned off. Now that is neat.
"Earlier today we were invited down to the GIGABYTE Technology headquarters here in Taipei where we were given an exclusive demonstration of its new "On/Off Charge" technology for the Apple iPod and other Apple products such as the iPhone and iPod.
GIGABYTE quietly launched a software driver a little while ago that allowed its motherboards to charge Apple products via USB even when your computer was turned off. Now the Taiwanese motherboard heavyweight steps things up some more with its new On/Off Charge tech."I have to say that I have been pretty impressed with Gigabyte lately.

NL: PC Game Reviews Roundup
Published: Friday, April 23, 2010 | By: WillLooks like we have another roundup for all of you PC gamers out there.
Splinter Cell Conviction (PC) Review @ GamingHeaven
"What a difference a beard makes... Seriously. The promotional material for Splinter Cell: Conviction saw pictures of a bedraggled Sam Fisher plastered everywhere just to let us know that things had changed. Its the classic movie convention - clean cut equals a by the book good guy, stubble equals either a bad guy or a good guy with a tendency to make up the rules as he goes along but the full beard is the uniform of a broken man."
Bioshock 2 - PC @ LanOC Reviews
"When the first Bioshock was released back in 2007, one may have considered it a sleeper hit. At least at first. It wasn't long before the title became immensely popular, even to the point of spawning perhaps one of the most substantial phrases in the current gaming era. Bioshock 2 has since enjoyed the limelight its predecessor had acquired, being one of the most anticipated games of 2010. Several weeks after it's release, and some fresh DLC, I take a look back on the title. Would you kindly join me?"
