EVGA Killer Xeno Pro Gaming Network Card Review @ Hardware Secrets

"Who hasn't screamed at the monitor when a faltering internet connection disrupted an otherwise good online match? No matter how powerful and gaming-oriented a PC is, sometimes lag is inevitable. To try and minimize these problems, BigFoot Networks released the Killer Xeno Pro, a network card sold by EVGA that takes control of the internet away from Windows and manages the bandwith to the user's gaming needs. The operation is a bit complex but the purpose of this test is to see if it delivers what it promises."
Don't believe the hype. Even though I have tried it and believe a little bit.

Khronos' President talks OpenCL, DX Compute Shader, and more @ TechReport
Published: Wednesday, August 5, 2009 | By: WillI know that OpenCL has become a big topic for everyone including even the mighty Mac crowd. Since the new Snow Leopard Mac OSX is going to support this new API big time. Making more use out of the GPU on the Mac over just gaming on it.
"We recently had the opportunity to speak with Neil Trevett, who fills positions as both the Khronos Group's President and Nvidia's VP of Embedded Content. Consumers might not hear the Khronos name too often, but the organization is responsible for setting and updating a number of key standards: among them OpenGL, OpenGL ES, and most recently, OpenCL."

Logitech G13 Advanced Gameboard @ Phoronix
Published: Monday, August 3, 2009 | By: WillSince gaming is the way to start the week. Let's get into looking at the Logitech G13 Gameboard controller for the PC. On top of that we are getting to even look at it on the Linux platform as well.
"Back in November we reviewed the Logitech G15, which was a well-built keyboard and offered a nice set of features, albeit it came at a lofty premium. The G15 sported a "GamePanel LCD" at the top of the keyboard which was a mini programmable LCD. This was nice and with some manual setup procedures would work under Linux. However, for those that may be looking for such a display or just looking for a smaller device to help with gaming, there is the Logitech G13. The G13 is not a traditional keyboard but rather an "Advanced Gameboard", as described by Logitech. It is effectively just an input device for your left hand that comes with 25 programmable keys along with a mini-joystick and at the top is a GamePanel LCD."
Yep, now that is a good way to start the week.

"ARMA 2 is for the most part the same game that the previous games were with a few slight performance changes and a new map for us to explore and play on. The storyline is a big failure in my opinion, but I'm sure there will be some people who like it. The map/mission editor is probably the game's best feature. Using the editor can keep this game fresh for a very long time; with the editor you can create single as well as multiplayer missions. "
"An unknown virus, sickness or synthetic governmental bioweapon is seeking out New York and starts to change the city: Zombies band together as far as the eye can reach, soldiers have to march out to assure the security of citizens. Monsters and a network of intrigues and lies spread out all over Manhattan and you, a shape-shifter, are the only one being able to get to the bottom of this affair. Watch out for information and find the culprits; you have a way of your's own to unearth the truth."
I honestly have no idea how this makes the week look better. Still sounded good.

"This week we were invited to visit the folks at Runcore at their Hangzhou office in China and get a look at its full range of Pro IV SSDs which launched just the other day.
During the five day trip, we arranged a factory tour of the Runcore facilities, which is conveniently located only about ten minutes down the road in the economic and development area of Hangzhou, officially known as 'HEDA' by the Chinese government."Wow! That was a long video. I guess I should have recommended popcorn.

Corsair Hydro Series H50 CPU Water Cooling Kit Review @ Legit Reviews

Here looks to be a great all in one water cooler for the masses that performs pretty well for the price. This looks to be extremely popular as well for any e-tailers are having a hard time keeping them instock.
"Corsair decided that for their third CPU Liquid cooling solution that they would work with Asetek and implement a couple of minor changes on their LCLC (redesigned the pump and cold plate) and then bring it to the retail market under the Corsair brand name. The plan worked and Corsair announced the Hydro Series H50 CPU Cooler on June 2, 2009, which is improved Asetek LCLC cooler. The result is a CPU cooler that Corsair claims is an easy-to-install CPU cooling solution that outperforms stock CPU coolers by more than 30%."

Now a helmet to wear while gaming is a completely new geekish way to show your the coolest geek of them all at the LAN Party. Everyone has to check this product out just for the fun of it.
"Over the past few years I have reviewed a wide variety of gaming headsets. On our trip to Million Man Lan a few weeks ago I saw something that really caught my eye. A couple people where wearing helmets with built in headsets. Apparently a company called GameSkulls was showing off a couple of their first product. After trying them out myself and talking with Gus from GameSkulls my interest was defiantly peaked. Before we left Gus dropped one off at my desk for me to checkout, Now I don't have to worry about being attacked by my wife while playing my games."
The disclaimer of sharp objects on the helmet is just to funny.

Published: Wednesday, July 29, 2009 | By: WillI'm a huge fan of the newer PSUs that have come from BFG Tech recently. Let's see if this new beast from them is going to hold up to the test of the greatness that we have come to expect.
"BFG Tech has done a very good job at commanding respect in the computer power supply market in the last year. It has stepped up its game and along with that it is now entering the tremendously demanding 1 kilowatt PSU market. 1000 watts of power is not easy to deliver while doing a good job of it."
