Canadian Man Builds Himself Robot Girlfriend
Published: Friday, December 12, 2008 | By: DennisCute robot
A Canadian man, apparently unable to find the perfect woman, has done the next best thing — he's built himself one.
Le Trung, a 33-year-old software engineer who lives with his parents in Brampton, Ontario, a suburb of Toronto, says he's spent about $20,000 so far on Aiko, a 5-foot-tall female android with clear skin, a slim if shapely figure and a wonderful disposition.I find it interesting how they mentioned the "Who lives with his parents" part in the second paragraph of the article. I would have figured the reporter to have a little more tact and maybe move that part to the bottom of the article.

First-tier motherboard makers planning layoffs
Published: Friday, December 5, 2008 | By: DennisI'm sure this sort of thing happens all the time.. right?
Asustek commented that its is evaluating a "small" workforce reduction. In addition, the company said it will also adjust its inventory control and channel operation.
As for the first quarter of 2009, Asustek said it expects revenues performance to hit bottom in January and February.
In related news, Micro-Star International (MSI), Gigabyte Technology and Elitegroup Computer System (ECS) are also said to be planning to cut staff by an average of 3% each. -
Holiday PC Gaming Season
Published: Tuesday, December 2, 2008 | By: WillIf you live under a rock then this next title for PC is going to shock you. That is right it is going to shock you for it has over 11 million people playing some form of World of Warcraft. The new expansion pack is out, and here is a good article to see if it deserves your hard earned cash.
WOW: Wrath Of The Lich King (PC) Review @ GamingHeaven
"It is hard to believe that World Of Warcraft was released only 4 years ago as its path to success seems almost embedded into modern culture on a variety of levels. WOW as it is commonly known has held the MMORPG crown since it was released and with over 11 million subscribers it is hard to imagine its popularity will fade anytime soon. Wrath of the Lich King is the second expansion to Blizzard's game and has already sold in massive quantities. I am a long time fan of the series, so I am here to find out if it is worth your money."
I just want one month of subscription to be put in my bank account from WoW. Then I would be saying WOW!

2008 Supplementary PSU Roundup - Part 2 @ JonnyGURU
Published: Tuesday, November 25, 2008 | By: WillWith the Holiday season coming up, and everyone is going to be upgrading there PC hardware to get the most out of there new PC games. I decided to remind everyone that with all those new beastly Quad-Core Processors and Dual Video Card setups you better check the PSU ratings.
"In part one of this roundup, I looked at two lower powered models from Ultra and FSP designed to supplement one's main PSU in providing power for the newer and more watt hungry video cards. In part two, both of those units are in for some "tough" competition in the form of two big bad Thermaltakes - the Toughpower Power Express 450W and 650W units."
Nothing like watching a PSU roast on an open testing bed.

Holiday PC Gaming Season
Published: Tuesday, November 25, 2008 | By: WillKeeping the PC gamer informed about new games for this season is just part of the Ninja life for us. Today I'm just going to spotlight one game and that is the COD World at War. Have not played it, but hoping to see it soon to give a better idea about this great looking title.
"Built on the CoD4 engine, Treyarch has had the opportunity to focus on the gameplay. CoD 4 was a journey into the modern world. For WaW, Treyarch went back to World War II but instead of focusing on the European Theater, the dev team expanded that to play the game - through scenarios - on two fronts. Players will be immersed in the Pacific Theater in the war against the Japanese Imperial Army, and will be part of the Russian push toward Berlin."

Adobe Photoshop CS4 @ InsideHW
Published: Tuesday, November 25, 2008 | By: WillI know many of us geeks out there love to play with photos and what not with Photoshop everyday. For the most part a new release of Photoshop is not very hardware news worthy, but this time around CS4 is using some sweet new technology. This is the first time that Adobe is using a video card to do the work load for Photoshop.
"New edition of one of the best, if not the best, application for processing raster graphics attended for photographers but also for graphic and web designers, is finally tested on InsideHW. One of most important technical novelties is that Photoshop CS4 will be delivered only as 64-bit version. Adobe made this decision after preliminary tests that showed that performances of 64-bit applications are better for 8% to 12% comparing to 32-bit version. True power and advantages of 64-bit version are hidden in fact that it can use large amounts of memory..."
This is good stuff here. Very Cool!
