Radeon X800Pro Info
Published: Monday, April 19, 2004 | By: DennisWith May quickly approaching all eyes are on any info surrounding the pending release of a new Radeon chip. Well, I found some relative info on the Inquirer.
Keep in mind that this info should be considered rumor at best and they have been known to be wrong in the past.
- ATI to launch X800 PRO on 4th of May
- Radeon X800PRO will beat NV40 Ultra
If anything from the inquirer past is proof of the future they are just reporting the rumors as they think the masses will expect to read them. -
Been Bluejacked Lately??
Published: Monday, April 19, 2004 | By: DennisOr “Toothing” as they are calling it in London, but basically the process is the random sending of messages to other blue tooth enabled devices in the nearby area. In some cases a successful bluejack may turn into a "quicky" in a nearby bathroom so watch out.

Published: Thursday, April 15, 2004 | By: DennisI use straggler very loosely since if I were in their shoes I'd be doing the same.

MSI K8N Neo Platinum Edition @ T-Break
Published: Thursday, April 15, 2004 | By: Dennis"Like the previous model nForce3-150, the nForce3 250 is also a single chip solution and uses the Athlon64’s built-in memory controller. nVidia is planning on releasing four variations for this chipset."
MSI has always been one of the first companies to release new products into the mainstream; I guess they figure being first means more money. -
Xice EC900 Watercooling Kit Review @ ModSynergy
Published: Thursday, April 15, 2004 | By: DennisThis is one of them watercooling units that we have all come to recognize, Personally I find the external box approach to be a little dull but I know of some people that swear by them.
Nasty words too
"I had positive first impressions of the construction of the Xice EC900, but after actual use, I have to say overall I am quite disappointed. A couple of things were positive such as they included a bottle of pre-mixed coolant (something we recommended that other manufacturers do), adjustable barb fittings, the construction of the external unit, and that the unit as a whole is very, very quiet, which is what Xice intended." -
XFX 5700 Ultra Dual DVI @ Viper Lair
Published: Thursday, April 15, 2004 | By: DennisKeep in mind this is the DDR2 version but does have dual DVI outs for those of us with digital displays.
"While the XFX 5700 Ultra isn't the fastest card in the block, it is still a good card worthy of a recommendation for the performance and Dual DVI capability if nothing else. If you want a good, stable, fast video card that won't break the bank I would put the 5700 Ultra on your list of possible video cards to purchase." -

BIOS Mod a 9800 Pro to 9800 XT @ RojakPot
Published: Wednesday, April 14, 2004 | By: DennisHere is a cool mod that reminds me of what you can do with high end nVidia cards new and old.
"Unlike the early versions of the Radeon 9800 Pro, the latest 256MB cards are 99% identical to a real Radeon 9800XT! Yup! It has the same PCB, R360 core and even the same Hynix 2.5ns DDR II memory!" -

Published: Wednesday, April 14, 2004 | By: DennisFor those just getting into watercooling it is sometimes difficult to get everything installed. One of the more difficult tasks is finding a location for the pump and radiator.
The CustomGinun guys have a little step-by-step article with some great photos. If you are looking for installation ideas be sure to check it out.
The review is in French but it translates well using babelfish translator at Altavista -
