After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

Case Layout and Features - Expansion

The top of the case features an ornate removable panel that covers the top radiator mounting location. The case is designed with the ability to use either 120 or 140mm fans and you will notice that none of these fan locations feature perforated metal.  Instead the entire area has been cut out to promote quiet operation and higher airflow.
The lower section of the HDD cage is removable leaving you with a total of four optical bays and two HDD bays.  The detachable HDD bay is an excellent feature as this opens up the bottom of the case for additional cooling gear including a dual 120mm radiator.
In the rear of the case you will see the standard 7 expansion slots as well as an additional expansion slot mounted vertically, the extra slot could be used for a variety of expansion options including additional USB ports or additional video or audio connections.
Included in the packaging was a couple of different SSD adapter plates.  The first is similar to the traditional drive rail and mounts to either side of the SSD.  While exploring the case we found that the top HDD bay was also equipped with an adaptor plate large enough to support dual 2.5" drives.
