After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    Conclusion

I really have to hand it to Raidmax for creating a very unique gaming case; they did an excellent job in the bodywork and the paintjob is great. However the case doesn't really lend itself well to many modding possibilities except for enhancing what has already there.
Case cooling was well thought out, 120mm intake and exhaust fans provide good airflow without an excessive amount of noise and the louvered rear vent is one of the best solutions I have seen in recent times. On the intake side, the dual integrated side vents are very stylish and match the case design very well. However the fan grill and location of the HDD rack are the problem areas in the whole cooling design but are easy to fix.
Other cooling related mods might include the installation of a watercooler but finding places for your cooling gear might be a challenge. Traditionally the radiator could be hung out the back in place of the louver vent, a bay res could reside in one of the 5.25" drive bays with the pump somewhere near the bottom by the hard drive rack. That of course is a rather conservative setup so here is what a casemodder might do.
Dual fan radiator placed on top of the case and molded into the top body panel. The fans would face up and pull air out of the case and thru the radiator. The lower HDD rack would be removed to make room for a decent high flow pump, and a Criticool 6" res would be installed on the back of the case near the louvered vent. It would be a shame to install a window into this case, so I won't even suggest one. wink smile
Now for the ever popular list of Good things and Bad things. happy smile
    The Good Things
    Unique styling
    Silent yet effective cooling
    Accent lighting
    Super glossy paint job
    Tool less design
    The Bad Things
    Limited modding potential
    Body panels "flex" under pressure
    Drive door feels bulky
    Intake could use some work
Side panels are difficult to install and remove
    Ninjalane Rating
I would like to thank Raidmax for helping to make this review possible.
