Deus Ex: Human Revolution Review @ Techgage
Published: Monday, September 12, 2011 | By: DennisI actually just bought this game a few days ago, sadly in typical "I'm too busy for games" fashion, it's still in the shrinkwrap.
Thanks both to its stellar go-your-own-way gameplay and immersive cyberpunk world, the original Deus Ex is regarded as one of the best PC games of all time. Following up to such a cult classic isn't easy, but with Human Revolution, Eidos Montreal has proven that it didn't want to disappoint DX's hardcore fans at any cost.
I played the first Deus Ex back in the day and sure hope the new one lives up to its hype.

Overclocking Event Over the Weekend
Published: Monday, September 12, 2011 | By: DennisSorry for the lack of updates this past week but, there is a good reason for that. I was overclocking! Over the last weekend I held a little overclocking get together so that I could see what the big deal was about Liquid Nitrogen.
The event was planned over the past few weeks but really became a "mad rush" to make sure everything was ready. First of all I needed to make sure I had equipment to store and transport LN2 so I bought a 25 Liter dewar off ebay. I also picked up some hand flask vacuum bottles at one of the local stores so I could do percision pours. All of that would be for moot unless I had a really good CPU container. Of course when you are planning something like this there are things that don't turn out, like my bench table, but it is a great start for things to come.
All in all the party turned out great and was sealed in the history books right after the 180 Liter tank was delivered. That of course lead to the first LN2 pour and subtle whisps of Nitrogen vapor.

Things here should return to normal over the next week including a couple of new reviews. In the meantime check out the the pictures from the Ninjalane Overclocking Party - Gigabyte with LN2 event on Facebook and be sure to like us if you like what you see.

What happened to the world’s most famous hackers?
Published: Thursday, September 8, 2011 | By: DennisBlack hat down, we have a black hat down. No this isn't a scene from a movie but a real life situation where hackers have been hired by the companies they hacked to run errands, make coffee, oh and fix their security issues.
The funny thing about hacking, though, no matter its flavor, is that it’s an incredibly valuable skill to have. There is a reason that almost every lone wolf hacker eventually ends up in the employ of a large, multi-national company — and believe it or not, many hackers that break into NASA or the CIA are usually offered a full-time job to prevent other hackers from doing the same.
This is far from the norm, in fact most hackers get to do hard time, or are somehow let off the hook after a disgruntled employee burns down the building over a missing stapler. Either way this s a good read and worth a few moments.
An interesting side story. Back in the early years I often struggled to get the attention of companies *cough* ABIT */cough* and decided to take the initative and instead of asking for a review sample I would simply buy the product I wanted, do a review and see what happens.
Long story short.. Review got posted, I sent a link to the marketing department and two days later got a reply, "Thanks for the review".
Aside from getting my name added to a list and the occasional email correspondance it did nothing. So, that was the end of that.

Hackers may target cars next, McAfee says
Published: Wednesday, September 7, 2011 | By: DeanSeems nothing is safe from hackers anymore. I suppose it was only a matter of time.
The increasingly sophisticated systems running a car may lead to new vulnerabilities, according to a study released today from security software provider McAfee in partnership with mobile software provider Wind River and embedded security provider Escrypt. Those systems could allow hackers to take control of the car, track its location, and even access devices that are connected to it, including smartphones and tablets carrying valuable personal data.
Lets just hope the auto industry patches these exploits sooner rather then later.

Man Gets Hard Drive Full of Secret Apple Documents
Published: Friday, September 2, 2011 | By: DeanWeve all heard about the lost iPhone in the bar that caused quite the media blitz. Seems Apple had to one up that by handing over a hard drive to a customer full of secret documents.
Confidential docs, internal manuals, Apple's sales technics, an Apple store work checklist, products layout, time schedules, pictures and videos of Apple corporate activities that only Apple employees can see, videos of store meetings, business structure and much more.
Ouch.

Next Call of Duty MW3 Could Out Sell BlackOps
Published: Friday, September 2, 2011 | By: DennisMost everyone knows that I wasn't a fan of Black Ops (single player) and didn't play the multi player because of it. However if MW3 is anything like MW2 or COD4 this could be the game to end all games.
Pre-orders for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the latest installment of the enormously popular Call of Duty franchise, are expected to shatter the pre-sales record set by its predecessors, Activision Blizzard told analysts on Thursday.
Scroll down for a newly released preview of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in multi-player mode, in all its action-packed glory. The game is targeted for a November 8 release. One thing is for sure, this game is on my "most wanted" list and I can't wait to play it. Be sure to check out the new trailer too!

Foxconn sees net profits reach NT$27.39 billion in 1H11
Published: Thursday, September 1, 2011 | By: DennisDigitimes is reporting that Foxconn had some pretty good profits this year. It is too bad they likely didn't come from the channel products

Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) has announced net profits of NT$27.38 billion (US$945.93 million) for the first half with EPS down 20% on year to NT$2.58.
For the third quarter, Foxconn is expected to ship 20 million units of iPad 2 to Apple, a growth of 60% sequentially, and the orders should be the major growth driver for the company in the second half. However, Foxconn has declined to comment on a specific client. -
ASUS Maximus IV Extreme-Z Review @ ocaholic
Published: Thursday, September 1, 2011 | By: DennisWe recently reviewed the P67 edition of the Maximus IV Extreme and found it to be an excellent motherboard with plenty of flexibility. The Z68 is basically the same board but supports the new disk cache feature.
The Maximus IV Extreme-Z is ASUS' latest flagship regarding their socket 1155 line-up. With its ROG brand the taiwanese mainboard giant targets gamers as well as overclockers. Very impressive is for example the number of USB 3.0 ports this board comes with. There is a total of eight of these ports.
Picking either one of these boards will get you the same basic performance regardless of what processor and video cards you choose to run.
