  • XFX GeForce 9800GX2 Black Edition Review @ Motherboards

Published: Wednesday, June 4, 2008 | By: Will

As Computex runs on, and we get to see more sneak peaks at the new video cards. Here is a review for a very new card that is just kick ass on performance.

"XFX has done a wonderful job with the 9800GX2 Black Edition as it is the fastest available 9800GX2 on the market today at a clock speed of 700MHz for the core. The card plays every game on the market including Crysis in high settings and with anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering fully enabled. The card is available online for a price of $599.99 from ZipZoomFly this card is not cheap, but it is ultra fast."

To bad the EOL is coming soon for such a new comer to the market.

  • Cooler Master CSX Gargoyle @ Phoronix

Published: Wednesday, June 4, 2008 | By: Will

I'm a sucker for awesome looking cases. This case from Cooler Master is just an amazing job for paint. I would never be crazy enough pay such a high price for a cool case.

"Earlier this year we had looked at the Cooler Master Cosmos S, which was a very nice EATX chassis and had taken the Cosmos 1000 to the next level. While we were not most fond of the Cosmos S aesthetics, the Cooler Master case we are looking at today is unlike any other we have ever reviewed. The case we are looking at is the CSX Limited Edition
    Gargoyle."

Still I will have to admit if I was wealthy this case would be in my collection.

  • GFXChilla by Coolink @ Modders-Inc

Published: Tuesday, June 3, 2008 | By: Will

Wow these new GPU coolers are starting to look very similar. Maybe it's just me. Let's see if the GFXChilla is a good pet, or a bad pet for your Graphics card.

"The GFXChilla is a new cooling solution for your graphics card that uses two fans and a series of heat pipes. It easily dropped the temperatures of the video card and installing the card is a simple process."

Looks to be a good pet. Not one accident on the carpet. I think it's a keeper.

Here is something I have been looking for. A use for my PCIe slot. It has been a while since I have used a TV tuner, but yes even mine will not work with the new US standards. This might be in my upgrade future sometime soon.

"Actually, upgrading to a new TV tuner may not be as bad as it sounds. If you have watched a digital TV image, you will surely not want to go back to an old analog image. In addition, many new TV tuners on the market come with newer technologies which offer better images and features. Furthermore, many TV tuners use PCIe, which means that you can finally put your PCIe slots on your motherboard to good use."

TV on a PC. It is every mans' dream. Just need a toilet for a seat with a frig next to it.

  • Xigmatek Battle-Axe GPU Cooler review @ Metku

Published: Tuesday, June 3, 2008 | By: Will

Xigmatek is going for my fantasy geek side with a name like Battle-Axe. To bad it really does not look like a Battle-Axe. Still with it having two 92mm fans to cool a mighty hot GPU. I still think that is COOL.

"In our test the Battle-Axe proved to be a very powerful graphic card cooler, but it doesn't come without a long list of down sides. First of all
it's huge. This isn't a problem if the user only has one graphic card and doesn't even plan to get any other cards. Anyway it just leaves a
feeling of "couldn't have been made any smaller". "

Sorry to everyone that had to read that pun.

  • ASUS M3N78-EMH HDMI Motherboard Review @ HardwareLogic

Published: Tuesday, June 3, 2008 | By: Will

It is kinda funny that everyday I keep posting more and more Asus reviews. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. Maybe it is that Asus is pumping a ton of boards all at once. So congrats to the R&D people kicking out the new boards at Asus.

"Asus is everywhere and anywhere there might be a market for computer related components. This industry giant shipped out 55 million motherboards and earned over $16 billion in revenues during 2006. They followed that up in 2007 with revenue exceeding $20 billion dollars. With over 100,000 employees and an unsurpassed R&D team, its not hard to see why they are considered one of the best companies in the game."

Wow over 55 million motherboards. That is a bunch isn't it.

  • AMD - Loaded and Back in Action @ Hardwarezone

Yeppers it's another pro AMD article. You would think they pay me to keep the good PR going for them. Remember AMD even the Ninjalane needs some love to. Oh well, just read the article.

"Despite the lack of profits for the last few quarters, AMD's competitive position today is perhaps the strongest ever in the last two years and that's just based on recent developments. We've got some interesting details of the company's current and upcoming plans for their desktop, mobile and handheld platforms, so read on."

This is a very long, but interesting read. It gives us an idea of what the AMD camp has in store for the future.
